A Social Media Platform Said I Was Promoting Cannibalism. by Jimbee68 posted Nov 11, 2025 at 1:51 PM A popular social media platform said I was promoting cannibalism with the joke I repeated from the attached pic (I cleaned up, to show them). They have restricted my rights. And I can't comment anymore on other posts it seems. (Also they said something about my advertising there—??) They were my main way of getting my story out to the largest number of people. If I was banned there, for some nonexistent reason (as one hypothetical example, I explained to them), I'd have no way to get my story out. I'd have to find a new social medium platform. And I don't know of too many. Plus I am busy with other matters now. Fighting endless legal battles with no solutions and that official don't exist. And dealing with all my medical issues, present and future. Plus as I told them, I am taking legal action against all the people who wrongfully discriminated against me. (No reason to say that now, I explained. I am just repeating that like I have many times in the past.) EDIT: And there was another pic like that, that I was just casually repeating the joke of. And I don't know what Facebook was talking about. The others who shared that joke are still there. And when I check to see what I missed, I saw the original poster is a comedian, digital creator and artist in Canada and United States. And they're page has the disclaimer adult content. But people social media sites and message boards are suddenly telling me now that they don't like my humor now for some reason. I don't think my humor is that bad. And plus I can't afford to lose this access to telling people my story. Like I said, I still don't know what FB is talking about.
I had something similar recently. FB banned me for some reason. I tried to ask them the reason, and all I got was a dialog box telling me that I had to give them a video selfie of my face in order to verify that I'm human. Needless to say, I haven't bothered, and I don't miss FB at all. Forums like this one are much more fun.
Thanks for your reply. I was also wondering what other platforms are there. I only knew a couple offhand. EDIT: And if it's allowed, I'd love it if someone provided a list here of platforms. (Or where I could find that list.)
That sounds frustrating, especially when others posted the same thing and nothing happened to them. Did they give you any real explanation or just that generic “policy violation” message everyone gets?
They're reviewing it, I believe. I also suspect someone might have hacked my account, although I have no reason to believe that. But I don't know what is going on.
Unless the platform was a government entity they can ban you anytime they want. Your only recourse is to see if you didn't violate any of their rules, although the Supreme Court has ruled that any editorial judgments they make, including moderation, are protected by the First Amendment (they can do want they want).
