So I have a summer's worth of travelling planned, I'm all pumped up and ready to go, I'm nearly done packing and am supposedly leaving Wednesday morning, BUT I just got a letter from Canada Social Services saying I'm "summoned to participate in a job search assistance activity to reenter the labour market". This is because when the gas station I worked at closed in late March I applied for Employment Insurance but had slightly less than enough hours to qualify, fair enough. When I got that news I made all my travelling plans... and now I have to go to this thing. I know they mean well, but damn. And later on in the letter they seem to imply that if I don't attend they can fuck up my credit and employment future, I'm not really sure. ANYHOW, I guess I'll go, and perhaps try to explain the situation to whoever it is I'm meeting. What do you guys think? I guess it's not a big issue or anything, but something of a pain when I'm so excited about leaving in a few days. By the way, I'll miss the forums, but I'll check up when I can!
Yeah I definetly wouldn't go...as if...it's kinda like you asked them for a chicken cause that's what ya' needed and they were like, "yeah we can't give you the chicken that you need and if you'd ever like chicken again you have to come down here and get one of our ducks we don't care if you need or want ducks it's just policy...yep I'd send them a letter or maybe phone call but would not go...someone's just gonna get paid (by your tax dollars mind you) to waste your time...yeah have fun on the road soon my friend!
