ok so i tried to post this under 'Spotlight' but apparently you need approval for a thread to go through, which doesn't make sense to me as nowhere else do you need such approval, but whatever. :tongue: anyway i wanted to ask if there was a way to have the 'uk forum' birthdays somewhere if maybe we should start a thread or whatever for people to list their date of birth and then we can do the 'birthday shoutouts' for people. i managed to get the last two only because they are on my myspace friends list and i got sent a reminder their b'day was coming up. (yes i cheated). i was trying to look in the UK calander but either the people on their are from the entire Hip Forum in general or they are people that NEVER (and i do mean never) post on here. i think doing birthday shout outs make people feel noticed, unforgotten (even if other people in their real life may forgret them) and a bit special for a day or two (however long it takes for the thread to move to the bottom of the page). so what do you all think? any opinions, comments, suggestions?
We used to have a UK Forum calendar back in the day. It was just a thread with all the dates of the year and notable things written in, but it worked well Problem is getting a bugger to organise it though.
there is still a calendar here but as you can see it says there are 83 birthdays today, and if you look at the list the only person i recognize is bokonon .... not to mention doesn't seem there are 83 people that post in this section of the hip forums on a regular basis ... that is why i figure it must either be older members that aren't active, or birthdays of everyone that uses hip.
haha everyone feels old (heck i feel old sometimes and im 14) But my b-day isnt correct - the age is right but the date etc is wrong so for me it'll be different... Thats just something i do on the internet.
ditto ... well a month and 11 days :tongue: what day are you then? (in case you dont' want to do the math) i'm on the 21st. hmm ... did we have this convo last year? *puzzled*
