Hi guys, I have a question (obviously). I'm not sure if this has been addressed in other threads (didn't see any when I looked).

I was wondering if any serious complications or even overdose would ensue in taking about 6500mg of acetaminophen over an 24hr period?

I took about 2000mg of acetaminophen (which was in doses of nyquil), first around midnight of last night, last dose about 6hrs after. Then, have been taking vicodin 5mg/650APAP throughout the day since about 10am (7 pills). Overall it's about 6550mg of acetaminophen in the last 24hrs.

Also, I have been on Tramadol for about 2yrs and haven't had any since saturday, so took the vics to tide me over until I can get more.

I realize my stupidity, but I was just wondering about this. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

for short term therapy (less than 10 days) it is okay to consume up to 4,000 mg per day (ie, 1000 mg every 6 hours). For long term therapy (greater than 10 days) it is not recommended that you consume more than 2600 mg per day. A single daily dose of 6500 mg will not kill you, but it is placing a lot of stress on your liver.
