i keep hearing about them, and they sound like an awesome band i could get into. psychedelic stuff i believe it to be.
They release on average about 10 albums per week (I exaggerate, maybe slightly less than that lol) hence because they are so massively prolific their back catalogue is a bit erratic as well as very varied in style. Tread with caution, their stuff ranges from some of the best 21st century psychedelia you'll hear to the totally unlistenable. La Novia is a good place to start if you can find a copy
Also worth checking is the Acid Mother's Temple Family 3cd comp "Do Whatever You Want, Don't Do Whatever You Don't Want!!" lots of good AMT off-shot acts and collaborations, pretty cheap to buy online and well worth the money as a taster
someone on here called them the most psychedelic band ever, i believe 'em.. i've only got Electric Heavyland.. they make the sound that lsd makes.
AMT are absolutely incredibly freakout for sure. Very schizophrenic sounding, from pleasant calming drones to raging slabs of noise and gibberish and just about everything in between. I've heard a bunch of their albums and live sets, it's all good stuff if you don't go into it expecting to hear "the most psychedelic band ever" (even though they are).
They're pretty awsome, I mean there's nothing that compares to Acid Mother's Temple And The Melting Paraiso UFO (honestly, the full name!). They are the end result of feeding a bunch of Japanese hippies acid and god knows what else and setting them loose upon musical intruments. And I mean that in the most positive way possible. Unique, bizarre, and very very groovy.
