WHY THE FUCK WONT YOU GO AWAY?

What can I do to make this horrible symptom vanish? I'm already using pro activ, and it works for clearing it up, but not for scarring.

Don't you need to pay a lot of money to get them removed? Then again I wouldn't really know.

Oh man. I don't know how many people told me at 14 that I would grow out of that shit.

If anything, it got worse. As soon as I turned 20 I started getting the worst breakouts. I still do and I'm almost 25. Nothing to do with diet, exercise, cleanliness, all the antibiotics and creams I have used and facials I have had. Acne runs in my family.

I've had laser microderm abrasions, chemical peels, facials, I've heard that light therapy works really well lately.

look up acne on wikipedia and there's some kind of info on there about light treatment.

    I tried proactive - wasn't strong enough.

    I use Benzagel acne wash - http://well.ca/products/benzagel-5-acne-wash_424.html - as a cleanser
and OTC night cream called Benzyclin - http://www.benzaclin.com/ (don't get the gel, get the topical cream. there are no preservatives in the cream b/c the pharmacist has to mix the medicine all right there)
For a Vitamin-A, moisturizer, sun protection, and AHA acid product all in one, I use - http://www.neutrogena.com/econsumer/ntg/teenproductdetail.view?productId=56&catId=1&subCatId=4 - You don't need sun protection that is above 45 SPF UVA/UVB. That's just putting too many chemicals in your blood stream. Neutrogena has some really great sun protection products that you can use as moisturizers.

If you want to find the best, most comprehensively environment friendly cosmetics out there, take a look at this Skin Deep Cosmetic Database:

    http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/splash.php?URI=/index.php

Great resource. I have the most sensitive eyes to mascara, I swear I'm allergic to 90% of mascaras out there. This site helped me find really good natural brands so I can wear it and not be miserable! :)

As for the scarring, you could take ibuprofen - it brings down the swelling and redness of the skin.

Or you could also face masks and see if that helps to rehydrate and smooth your skin out. They sell a bunch of packets for cheap in drug stores. If you want to have fun and buy a couple for a buck, then go for it.

mederma is supposed to help with scarring, and i think lemon juice can help them fade faster, but the best thing you can do is try to prevent further breakouts/ scarring. i have seen a lot of zits pimples boils and cysts, some people in my family say i have a problem :) but i can tell you that everyone's skin is different. you have to figure out what is causing your breakouts, what kind of breakout it is, and how to remedy it. as for myself? im a popper. i can spend hours doing minor surgery on myself (or others) but for most people that is not the best option. some pimples require drainage, others can be left to reabsorb, but you have to know the difference. i used to get pimples where my hair touched my back, hubby started breaking out really bad after getting a tattoo and using bag balm on it. my brother has very firm skin, lots of resiliency, little scarring (like me) and my hubby has thin skin, prone to scarring and deep ickyness. but try to figure out the reason behind it. homemade remedies are often the best. scars go away with time.

OK blow me off if you want but I cleared up my acne after waiting to grow out of it for 40 freaking years by cutting way way way way back on fats(oils) and sugars (yes all of them including fruit) in my diet. This means no junk food, pizza, chips, cookies, cake, smoothies, ice cream, pop, etc etc etc. I eat only whole grains, beans, and veggies and I just very rarely get zits anymore unless I fuck up and eat anything with sugars or fats. They tell you that you can't live on a diet without fat and fruit is essential for a balanced diet but I'm here to tell ya it aint true folks. I been off all that for four years now and I don't live with that constant physical and emotional trauma anymore. Does cutting out fats and sugars cut down on your energy? Yes but what this society calls energy is mostly being hyped up to do all the shit they tell you you need to do which you despise. Natural energy comes from within and you don't need all that extra calories to burn if you are following your heart and true interests. It will change you. Is it easy? No especially if you're all addicted to junk. Harsh acne drugs may work for some but at what cost? They don't know the long term side effects of that stuff and if they did they wouldn't tell ya. It's a multi billion dollar bizness. Soaps and scrubs never worked for me either. Acne I'm pretty sure is a f'd up liver thing and I've tried all kinds of cleanses and tonics and they never worked either either. Sorry about this part hipsters and hipsterettes but stuff thats hard on the liver like pot, cigs, booze and drugs have probably got to go too. To me it was worth it not to be a freak anymore. Living in a polluted city don't help either. As for scarring, once you get the acne to stop you can get dermabrasion to smooth things out if you want. I doubt anyone will take me up on this but if you message me I will talk you through at no charge how to f-ing get rid of your f-ing acne on a natural vegan diet. IT WORKS! This is not a scam or come on. It is me folks, lil ol moondaddy who got rid of his acne and will help you do the same. Look at my old posts people. I am not trying to sell anything or scam anyone or get in anyone's pants. I just want to freaking help people. Scuse me if I don't stick around this thread to argue about it. Not into that. Sayonara.

Oh yeah I forgot to say I had a pretty extreme problem so that's why I had to keep such a strict diet. You may not have it as bad so you might not have to be as strict, maybe you can have some meat or dairy or a little fruit but the same general guidelines will still apply I'll wager.

this winter i decided i had had enough with my painful acne, so i went to my dermatologist (if you want to do something serious about acne, go see one). the first time i went for acne, i got prescribed duac topical gel and doxycycline antibiotic; they were very effective for a while. now im on my 3rd month of accutane, which is the cure for acne. my breakouts are finally starting to go away, because it initially makes it worse; and my scars are fading. my dermatologist said that the accutane will help get rid of the facial scarring better than nature. i guess this is because one of the main side effects of accutane is that it makes your skin, really, really, really, and somewhat peely; so i guess you are refreshing your epidermis pretty often. the only downsides to accutane are: dryness, way too much government intervention (you have to have blood taken every month before perscribed, and women have to take 2 pregnancy tests because it causes very serious birth defects, and the perscription must be filled within a 7 day window), and its like $500 a month, unless you get the generic which is free for me currently. so id definately look into it as an option, but you should for sure go see a dermatologist if you really wanna do some serious shit to your acne.

I'm taking antibiotics (doxycycline) and a topical treatment of clindamyacin. It works well, see if your parents can take you to a dermatologist.

If they offer you accutane, say no. It may sound like the wonder drug, but it has some very VERY serious drawbacks that many doctors don't seem to care much about.

ive gone through the accutane treatment, and it is a VERY extreme reconditioning of your skin. after the 3rd or so week, you begin to peel all over and will likely peel 2 "layers" of most of your skin surface during the duration of treatment.

however, 5 years later, i have almost no acne, except for if i touch my face too often or eat excessively greasy.

    ok...

i have very mild problems with spots, i dont consider it acne because its not on that level.
no1 rule is take care of it, the face.

i have been using degreasing facial scrubs for almost 3 years now, almost everyday. if i dont, i get a break out, if i do, it keeps spots very minimal.
If you do get a break out, worst thing you can do is fucking pick it with your dirty hands and horrible finger nails.
you have 2 choices, pop it or leave it. leaving it is simple, it will go away, but people will rip on you and you will look like a stereotype WoW fag. to pop it, you need to sterilise your hands with something of alcoholic content (i use aftershave), then the area, then after its done put some more on a tissue and wipe the area for a few min to avoid infection (yeah it burns i know). Then just leave it, dont touch it. really, unless it looks like theres something to pop, you should leave it. if its a constant habbit, draw a picture of a penis on your palm or w/e to distract yourself when your habbit urge takes over.
Sometimes, (i would assume due to infection) a red patch would appear in the spot breakout area, it looks like scared skin. It kinda isnt big deal me, since i still clean my face so its not noticeable most of the time, but i can see it becoming something really bad if you have poor overall hygiene or many of these. What took care of my previous ones was a good tan, natural best.

so really, if your pale as fuck and have acne, deffo try tanning.
I kinda dont like the whole booth tan shit, so my face gets refreshed at summer time. the sun is awesome friend.

Well I'm not sure how bad your acne is, but despite everything, the good news is that most likely you will grow out of it since you're only 16. My acne was never that bad, but a couple of times in my teenage years it got really bad

Well, what works really well and doesn't at the same time, rubbing alcohol, it'll destroy your acne like nothing else if you dab some on every night, but it's pretty bad for your skin in all other ways.

I had wicked bad acne when I was younger & was on accutane (sp?). My dermotologist was really cool & they make u sign this thing that says you're aware of the side effects, shit like that. What's funny though is when I started it I was 16 or so & b/c of its side effects they ask you if you suffer from depression or have mood swings or something & I was like wtf I'm 16, what 16 year old doesn't have mood swings? Overall though it really did work when nothing else did. Nowadays I'll still get random breakouts every few months or so & any OTC acne stuff works fine.

Vitamin E oil and aloe vera are supposedly good for reducing/fading scars, definitely worth a try.
