Police: Boys Rip Classmates' Clothes Off, Snap Photos

    POSTED: 5:15 am EDT September 27, 2005
    UPDATED: 11:56 am EDT September 27, 2005

Four Central Florida middle school students were arrested Monday for allegedly ripping off the clothes off classmates and then snapping photos with their cell phones, according to a Local 6 News report.

Investigators said the boys, ages 12, 13 and 14 years old, attacked the girls Friday at Tavares Middle School in Lake County, Fla., in the back of a school bus. The boys then allegedly groped the girls and took pictures of them.

Cell phone video allegedly showed one of the girls screaming for help while the boys touch her breasts, according to the report.

Police said the attack continued after the boys got off the bus when they pulled another girl by her hair. When she fell, detectives said they put their hands up her skirt.

Detectives said it is a crime that comes close to being rape, Local 6 reporter Jessica Sanchez reported.

"You forcibly hold someone down, you remove their clothing, you are fondling that person -- if these children had been adults, this is a crime, if convicted, they would be labeled sex offenders for the rest of their lives," Lake County sheriff's Sgt. Christie Mysinger said.

Police said two of the boys have confessed to taping the attacks with their cell phones, Local 6 News reported.

Also, police are looking at surveillance video from the school bus.

All of the boys face felony charges.

Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

What the HELL is going on in this world anymore?! *shakes head*

So I'm not trying to post hijack, but since we're on the whole school deal, my oldest son is on his 4th week of full-day kindergarten at a local public school. So okay, I've met and spoken with his teacher everyday since I pick my son up from school in the afteroons, and I think she's going to be really good for him. The school is nearly brand spanking new and beautiful, it's absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is all so friendly.

However, it's the kids that are ticking me off. I know boys will be boys, and I know that my son actually punched another boy on the first day of school, which horrified me, but the problem was dealt with at school with a time out and an explanation of how he should not do that. However, it was provoked, and he felt threatened. Now keep in mind that my oldest son is only 5, but because of his size, he looks more like a 7 or 8 year old. Very tall kid, built sturdy as a rock. He doesn't take crap, and wasn't going to let these kids put their fists in his face and say "let's go!". So he punched the one kid. I wasn't happy at all about it, although my husband seemed more proud. :p

Anyhow, we haven't had any other problems with him punching or hitting anyone since, and I had a long talk with him about avoiding kids who like to start fights. He's had glowing reports from his teacher, no problems. Except, he has been coming home telling me that he has been punched, kicked, and pushed down. I asked him if the teacher saw, and on 3 of the 4 of the incidents, she did, and dealt with the child who did it. But yesterday, he told me that when they were lining up to go home, a boy elbowed him in the chest and it knocked him (my son) to the floor, and he also put his fists up and said "bring it on".

Well I was furious. My initial reaction was to tell him that the next time anybody does that to him to sock them one, but I KNOW that the incorrect way to deal with it. I just get angry! I've talked to my son about how he should never do things like that to anybody, and to ignore someone that does it. My husband on the other hand, feels that if someone starts something like that with our son, that he has every right to retaliate.

I don't want my son to be a pushover. He's a tough little dude, popular with the kids in all of the grades already, and super outgoing. He's a sweet kid, and I hate to hear him taking this crap from these undisciplined children, because he does not deserve it!

He has fun at school for the most part, but I'm starting to be concerned with the "fighting" that's going on with these boys. I can tell it's bumming him out. So what the heck do you do? How do you deal with kids who start fights? What do you tell your child, to take it, or to do something about it? I'm a peaceful person, and I'm against violence, but I also don't want to keep getting stories of these little boys getting in his face and him having to just sit back and take it.

Ugghh, I swear, some people should never have children!

Wow.... I don't know what to say I'm speechless!

I agree with the sgt. they would get labeled as sex offenders if they were adults.

they're old enough to know right from wrong and what they did was horrible, and they should be tried as adults.

do you think the young girls that they did this to will suffer less emotional trauma if a 40 year old did this? of course not! I don't know I guess I just have no sympathy for people who commmit these awful crimes no matter what their age!

14 years old or 40 years old, I don't care, throw the sick fucks in jail and let 'em rot!

Well, if there's no discipline at home and none in the school....

Personally, if I'd been driving that bus, it would have been a cloud of blue smoke as the brakes were fully pushed in, and I would have been on those lads like a Hindu on a chicken.

The bus would then have taken detours to the place of work of every kid in question (this after hogtying every one of them) and then getting the secretary to get Daddy out of his meeting or whatever and simply showing him that footage (all buses have cameras). And that by the way, the footage is going to the parents of the girls in question as well as the school board, and that kid is going home with him and the school is being notified.

If Daddy is wearing an ankle bracelet, isn't around or doesn't care, it would be CPS that gets the kid.

well, i'm not for trying them as adults. they're not adults. yeah, the trauma to the girls is extremely severe, and i speak from experience. but still, they ARE still kids. their parents definitely bear close scrutiny, and all the kids involved, including the assailants, need a great deal of close personal attention. how'd they get away with that on the bus for as long as they did? it's a sad world where your little ones have to become adept escape artists, but it's not new. i'm 30 years old now, i was a pro many many years ago at slipping outta very bad situations and learned long ago that crushing a boy's balls may very well be the only way you get out..

but you know, dave was assualted by his female babysitter and her girlfriend many years ago. you just gotta keep SUCH a close eye on your kids.

Makes me afraid for what these kids are being taught, how much parental supervision and training they are getting, where our society is going in general. Not to mention what is going on in the schools. I don't have kids, but if I did, I'm not sure I would be sleeping well at night, wondering how they are, what is going on around them, what they are doing when I'm not around, etc, etc....I hope those girls get counseling, and I hope those boys get the punishment they deserve, whether they are tried as adults or not. Some counseling wouldn't hurt those boys either...

well, we always get to thinking that this is unusual behavior that's brand new. but it's not. the only thing different here is now these idiots are documenting themselves. but these ARE kids. don't you remember how bizarre your thinking was at that age? how surreal the whole world was?

I can remember my thinking was kinda off then, but I (and, I think, anyway, my classmates) knew how far to take it, and when to stop. Ripping a girls clothes off, and then recording it on a cell phone goes over the edge, IMO. I'm not sure what kind of punishment these little guys should get for this (if they're VERY remorseful, probation, comunity service, LOTS of counseling maybe, but I tend to think that is a little lenient....), but, I can wager a guess, given that I don't know much about the situation, that they knew this was terribly wrong. It's not exactly mowing down a bunch of classmates with a gun as happened in Littleton, CO awhile ago, but the devastation to those girls psyche's must be immense. Makes me mad as hell that this happened to them...

When I was in elementary school one of the kids in my class wanted to "play sex" with me, and dragged me into a tunnel on the playground and started tearing off my clothes. I escaped and told the recess monitor, who did nothing and the boy was able to grab me and take me into the tunnel again. None of the 4 adults on the playground did anything to help me, and there were no camera phones for evidence later.

Nedless to say, my parents were pissed. They went up to the school and the administrator told them that there was nothing they could have done. They criticized me for not leaving the playground and letting that boy drag me into the tunnel again. Of course, elementary students aren't allowed to just leave an area when they want to, leaving the playground ususally gets kids in trouble.

true, but these are still kids, these boys. i think we get all excited to try kids as adults and it gets way out of hand. these boys aren't past saving. we have ot remember that THEY'VE been wronged, too, to be raised in such a way that they think this is something fun to do.

i remmeber one time i was being chased by a boy on the playground, and he'd been grabbing at my body and clothes, really terrifying me. so i ran from him, and when he was getting close, i hit the ground on my knees and curled up in a ball. he tripped over me and hit the ground hard, and I'M the one who got in trouble. they were my neighbors. my dad wouldn't listen to me, and the next day his family was babysitting me and making me say i was sorry. girls just didnt' get listened to.

Yeah, the kid that did that to me was trying out something he learned in a movie. Again, makes me wonder about his parents...

One time in 6th grade (I was a busty, well-developed sixth grader!), this classsmate reached out his hand and tried to grab one of my boobs. I smacked him on the hand and the ring I was wearing caught just right, and gashed his finger...lots of blood...I was so prould of myself!! I told the teacher what happened, and she actually did reprimand the boy...I was scared she wouldn't because he was the one that was injured. I was shocked, actually. Made him cry...and he didn't try it again... :H

good. when i was about 8 or so, i was visiting my friend. this was in navy housing, and all the houses had high gates and walled yards for privacy. as i was leaving, this boy came in, probably about 14-15. and he decided he wanted a kiss and a feel. so he grabbed me and wouldn't let me go, so i grabbed his nuts and twisted. 1983, those shiny jogging shorts were the thing. he start beating me after the shock wore off him and i was losing my grip. thankfully casey's neighbor heard my crying and getting hit, so he jumped the wall and pounded that little fucker. i'd never seen him for, nor ever since.

two days later a naked man in a car tried toget me and my friend wendy close enough to grab.

but being cornered and groped and terrorized was just part and parcel of my daily life, and as i got older and actually got boobs (when i was 10) it just got worse. grown men, boys, whomever. the bands of mexican gardeners who loved to "flirt' with little girls. men in cars, my goddamm neighbor (whom i still have nightmares about). my brother's friends. jesus. is it any wonder i hated men and boys so much back then?

When I was in Jr. High taking an IQ test the guy in the seat behind me reached up and groped my boob, and this was a christian school (which my parents put me in after the mess at the public elementary school)! I stood up, turned around, grabbed his desk, and tossed his ass onto the ground right during class. Of course I got in trouble for the disruption and people were skeptical that this good christian boy would have done such a thing, but I was happy with myself after that.

Yup, dei gratia sum quod sum...

¥ A rookie police officer pulled a biker over for speeding and had the following exchange:
¥ Officer: May I see your driver's license?
¥ Biker: I don't have one. I had it suspended when I got my 5th DUI.
¥ Officer: May I see the owner's card for this vehicle?
¥ Biker: It's not my bike. I stole it.
¥ Officer: The motorcycle is stolen?
¥ Biker: That's right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the owner's card in the tool bag when I was putting my gun in there.
Officer: There's a gun in the tool bag?
¥ Biker: Yes sir. That's where I put it after I shot and killed the dude who owns this bike and stuffed his dope in the saddle bags.
¥ Officer: There's drugs in the saddle bags too?!?!?
¥ Biker: Yes, sir. Hearing this, the rookie immediately called his captain. The biker was quickly surrounded by police, and the captain approached the biker to handle the tense situation:
¥ Captain: Sir, can I see your license?
¥ Biker: Sure. Here it is. It was valid.
¥ Captain: Who's motorcycle is this?
¥ Biker: It's mine, officer. Here's the registration.
¥ Captain: Could you slowly open your tool bag so I can see if there's a gun in it?
¥ Biker: Yes, sir, but there's no gun in it. Sure enough, there was nothing in the tool bag.
¥ Captain: Would you mind opening your saddle bags? I was told you said there's drugs in them.
¥ Biker: No problem. The saddle bags were opened; no drugs.
¥ Captain: I don't understand it. The officer who stopped you said you told him you didn't have a license, stole this motorcycle, had a gun in the tool bag, and that there were drugs in the saddle bags.
¥ Biker: Yeah, I'll bet he told you I was speeding, too.
