Regrettably? Seems calculated judging from the trend to tie the hands of educators whose time is needlessly commandeered by concerns of standardized testing. This is a rather telling statement from a figure who I very strongly believe was at the center of the creation of the housing bubble whose inevitable collapse helped create the job situation that he says we deserve... and Gen-Xers are in the same boat as the rest of us. His rhetoric seems calculated to magnify internal divisions that keep the public as a whole focused on infighting- and not on the criminals who are posing as congresspeople who are selling us down the river. Perhaps Mr. Greenspan ought to get a healthy dose of what HE deserves. It's also about churning out sheep who are unwilling and incapable of keeping an eye on what the government is doing... and labeling those who dare think outside the box as security risks, insane, or both.
Oh well; I'll refer to the my mean spirited left wing way. If we became more productive we'd have to compete and create the environmentally wasteful look (and the overcoming solution in contracts (without taxing)) on ALL these companies that are going into debt, like General Motors. The solution was not laziness, for the environment, just more socialistically understood competition for the government recognition.
Greenspan is correct. DAD. People pledge themselves into suretyshipl and claiming rights that are actully privileges not knowing any maxims of law or anything else.
