All in One Grow Closet

Was interested in purchasing a grow closet, possibly by Supercloset (probably the Supercube). It is a convenient set-up but kind of expensive and not sure how good it is. Anyone have experience with this model or can you recommend another similar all-in-one system? Thanks.

 

Just a few comments:

1. Nice cabinet! It really seems to come with everything but the kitchen sink.
2. It will only grow plants up to 18" high. Are you going to grow "Lowrider" or do you understand how plants are manipulated to keep them short? 18" in a cabinet doesn't give much "elbow room"!!!
3. If you buy convenience, you are stuck with thier whole set-up!!! Experimenting, upgrading or trying new methods will be difficult or impossible. Expanding is out of the question!
4. For that much money you could easily outfit a complete two-chambered grow room with a seperate germination/clonning section on the side! If you shop around and DIY you could do it for a fraction or that price!!!
5. It's your money, how you want to spend it is your business. What I would recommend is taking the time to look all over this website and see what others are doing and how successful they have been. Leave your options open for changing your method of growing and experimenting.

 

Thanks for the info - I'm kind of (very) new to this: what kind of yield can you get from a plant that is 18" high. My friend and I just want to be able to grow small batches at a time (maybe a couple ounces if possible). Would this closet be good for that? Is that amount worthwhile for the effort or is it easier to grow more at a time?

 

Its very expensive if you buy a good growers guide and your own equipment you can set up a small room for a fraction of the cost. If you have no spare room you could always look at a grow tent.

What we like about the closet is it's self contained and looks like a cabinet - we will keep it in a private office but need to hide it so it doesn't look like we're growing anything. The tent is nice but looks conspicuous. If the closet works well we don't mind spending the extra $ so long as it works. Do you think this or any closet that comes with everything will work well?

 

I'm sure that it will work well. Just be ready with a back-up plan in case the carbon scrubber isn't able to remove all of the odor. I would also not use the nutes that they include, go with something that has a proven track record and is readily available locally. Just my $.02 worth.

 

Thanks for the two cents. It's really appreciated - it's a big investment and I just want to hear some more experienced people sign off on it and say it will work. I know it's somewhat expensive but I live in New York City - basements and attics and under stairs and closet space doesn't come cheap here. We decided to get the larger cabinet, the Deluxe rather than the cube as 18" might not be tall enough. What brand nutrient would you recommend? I have some Northern Lights seeds coming...

 

Yeah, I think that was a wise choice that you will really be able to live with!!! That was my only real concern in the first place - a few inches can make all the difference in the world!!! I did two series of closet experiments last year. I think I spent maybe $40 the first time and then not as much the 2nd time since I already had some of the stuff. It was pretty easy and fun as hell. A very rewarding hobby. If I can find pics of my little grow space I'll post them.
