As 2012 approaches, understanding our true spiritual nature is a basic foundation for creating the optimal potential for our spiritual ascension.

But understanding of our true spiritual nature is very confused, due to the intervention of religions for centuries in the understanding of our various spiritual abilities (often referred to as "metaphysical" or "paranormal" "phenomena.")

In actuality, all metaphysical phenomena (all) are characteristics, traits, abilities or experiences of our spiritual nature, emanating from our souls.

The reasons we are so confused by the variety of metaphysical/spiritual phenomena is because religions, primarily Christianity, especially the Roman Catholic Church, banned most of our important spiritual abilities and traits as "heretical,’ “demonic,” or “no longer occurring.”

I've just completed a trilogy of books jointly entitled Awakening The Soul explaining the history behind this suppression, and providing a channeled method to overcome it. These books posit four things:

    1. All "metaphysical phenomena" (also described as paranormal phenomena, psi, psychic event, parapsychology, etc.) is actually our spiritual nature at work.

    2. Religions suppressed awareness of our spiritual nature by making almost everything metaphysical off-limits, sinful or evil, and intimidated science into not investigating metaphysical phenomena (our spiritual nature) under the penalty of death

    3. This led to our current confusion and ignorance about our spiritual nature, with most of us thinking it is something outside ourselves, while in truth it is really our internal spiritual nature in action.

    4. I provide remarkable spiritual tools to restore that spiritual nature, in Christian terms.

Book One: Proof of Our Spiritual Nature presents more than 80 differing examples of our metaphysical/spiritual nature, and explains 10 of them in depth.

Book 2: Our Suppressed Spiritual Nature reveals why we lost awareness of our spiritual nature, primarily through religious suppression for the last 2000 years.

Book 3: Restoring Your Spiritual Nature is a primarily channeled text providing exercises to restore our spiritual nature. It includes startling directions on how to reprogram the ego, and assign the Soul to be in charge of all our daily activities. It has been called “The key to the 12th Step” of AA and other addiction programs because it provides the necessary spiritual awakening.

Awakening The Soul: The Trilogy is now available, containing all three volumes in one 725-page reduced price text, with hundreds of new facts and enhancements.

Soul Theft: How Religions Seized Control of Humanity’s Spiritual Nature, a mainstream version of ATS: Book 2 is now also available.

A great deal of additional information can be found at:

There are more than 80 differing metaphysical/paranormal/psychic "phenomena" explored in "Awakening The Soul: Book One: Proof of Our Spiritual Nature." Here is a partial list:

Here are other examples of our spiritual nature which are not discussed at length in this volume:

Angel Encounters: The widely-documented spiritual experience of encountering your Guardian Angel, the spiritual being assigned to protect and guide you.

Apports: Items and objects which materialize, spontaneously and on command from spiritually-advanced adepts and mediums. Items such as perfume, flowers, small trinkets and many others are considered “gifts from spirit.”

Chakras: Spiritually energized openings that exist at the intersections of your physical body and your spiritual body. We each have seven major chakras within our bodies, located in a generally straight line from the crown of our heads to our groin. We also have two higher chakras in the space immediately above our heads. Shamanic traditions teach that the 8th chakra is where we meet the spirit of God, and that the 9th chakra is where the spirit of God meets us. The bodily chakras include the brow or “third eye” chakra, located in the center of the forehead. Jesus pointedly makes note of the importance of this chakra when He says, “The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matt. 6:22) Note he does not say “eyes,” clearly referring to the “third eye.”

Christ Consciousness: The exalted presence of the spirit of Christ, which arrives in your heart center when you have advanced spiritually. This step is a prelude to conscious awareness of God Consciousness within you.

Clairaudience: The ability to perceive sounds at a distance, such as music, without physically hearing the sounds.

Clairsentience: The ability to spiritually receive impressions of sensory, emotional and physical sensations from others; a primary tool of the psychic reader.

Déjà vu: The spiritual sensation of already having experienced an event. It’s possibly linked to momentary clairvoyance, or precognitive dreams.

Dreams: Often used as a means of communication by spirit entities or guides. There are numerous references in the Bible of God speaking to humans through dreams.

Ecstasy/Rapture: An overwhelming feeling of spiritual grace, which can occur during meditation or prayer, which lifts the spirit and Soul to exalted heights.

Electronic Voice Phenomena: The well-documented phenomena of voices of “deceased” beings appearing on tape recordings, or speaking through radios, televisions, and other electronic devices. Also known as “EVP, the voices are from spirit beings trapped in the etheric level, some appeal for help, others provide information about “the other side.”

Healing: The ability to send healing energy to relieve or cure a condition, either directly through “healing hands” or mentally, through telepathy.

Incorruptibility: The well-documented but highly unusual state which certain saints, high spiritual beings, and holy men and women have exhibited throughout history, in which their bodies do not decay after death. Catholic St. Teresa of Avila, Hindu holy man Paramahansa Yogananda, and Buddhist lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov are notable examples of those who have exhibited this condition.

Intuition: An acknowledged spiritual trait that leads the recipient to new findings or conclusions, or giving guidance in difficult situations.

Insight: An unbidden thought which arrives “full-blown in the brain,” a revelation which suddenly flashes into our mind, but never when we are thinking about the subject involved.

Jotts: A newly-coined term for personal objects which disappear, and then suddenly reappear. The acronym was coined from the expression, “just one of those things.” Newly identified, the phenomena is divided into two main categories, and incorporates elements of teleportation, apports, and poltergeist activity in a variety of different scenarios.

Living in the Moment: The ability to focus only on the present moment, vastly enriching your daily experience.

Manifestation: The spiritual ability to produce objects on command, best documented in the Bible where Jesus feeds 5,000 people with just a few pieces of fish and bread. Also associated with advanced adepts and holy men, as well as poltergeists.

Meditation: The method of stilling the mind to communicate with your higher spiritual mind, spirit entities or high spiritual beings, including the Holy Spirit, Christ and God.

Mediumship: The ability to communicate with the spirits of deceased beings who wish to communicate with living relatives.

Nurturing Nature: This spiritual reconnection can be exercised with plants or animals, serving as an important step for spiritual seekers.

Orbs: This newly discovered phenomena may not emanate from our Souls, but certainly is interacting with our spiritual selves. They are small to large (2-3 inches to a foot or more in diameter) balls of light which appear in photographs but are rarely seen visually. They appear to have a textured surface, and seem to have intelligent, interactive activity with those who acknowledge them. They have frequently been seen at large public gatherings, spiritual ceremonies and during crop circle formations.

Past Life Recall: The ability to recall episodes of prior lives, which often occurs spontaneously, but can be induced through hypnotic regression. This is an important tool for aware psychologists.

Plant Communication: The ability to communicate with plants and trees, as exhibited by George Washington Carver and Luther Burbank.

Poltergeist: Invisible spiritual entities that create noisy effects to draw attention to themselves, often manifested around children. Numerous cases have being documented involving such attention-getting effects as pebbles being thrown on rooftops.

Prayer Effects: The documented beneficial effects which prayer has upon those being prayed for, resulting in sudden reversals of ill health, or improvement in physical condition.

Prophecy: The ability to receive and deliver profound wisdom in times of need.

Precognition/Premonition: The ability to perceive approaching events, usually of a catastrophic nature. Premonition is the same ability carrying a sense of dread.

Psychokinesis: The ability to move or affect the motion of material objects with the mind.

Psychometry: The ability to perceive the history, or embedded emotions, from a material object.

Pyrokinesis: A rare spiritual ability exhibited by Tibetan monks and others to generate great amounts of heat from their bodies, strong enough to dry wet blankets and to set cloth afire. A modern example of this ability, known as tumo in India, was exhibited by Nina Kulagina, a Soviet woman who also excelled at psychokinesis.

Retrocognition: The ability to perceive the past, in much the same manner as precognition is exercised.

Singing Silence: The high-pitched sound one hears in the mind when incoming spiritual energy is being received. It is not heard through the ears.

Spirit Guides/Teachers: The presence of spiritual guides and teachers, who impart wisdom and guidance; a special spiritual gift available to all humans.

Spirit Photography: Ghostly apparitions which appear, some times at random and some times as if posing, in photographs. Ranging from small bursts of light to full, identifiable apparitions, these ghostly guests have made themselves known since photography was invented. This phenomena also has been rife with fraud.

Spiritual Body: The ability to perceive and sense the spiritual body, which is greater than the physical body. It encloses the physical body, the Mind and the Soul.

Still, Small Voice: The ability to perceive incoming information from spiritual guides or high spiritual entities, such as the Holy Spirit.

Synchronicity: The uncanny spiritual experience in which a needed answer, book, situation, or circumstance suddenly appears.

Synergy: The spiritual connection that occurs when two or more individuals find their cooperation creates greater than expected results.

Teleportation: The disappearance of an item in one location, and its simultaneous appearance in another location, often quite distant. An ability of high spiritual adepts throughout history, it has now been scientifically proven at Cal Tech, where high fidelity quantum teleportation has been achieved.

Thought Photography: Also known as “thoughtography,” this rare talent is the ability to transfer images onto photographic paper. The only modern example of this ability was shown by a Chicago bellhop named Ted Serios, who was extensively examined by Denver psychologist Jule Eisenbud, who affirmed the reality of his ability.

In addition, there are other unusual traits noted by futurists studying our evolutionary process. Michael Murphy, cofounder of the futuristic forum Esalen in Big Sur, California, notes a variety of such unusual talents in his 1993 book, The Future of the Body. In addition to the many traits and abilities already cited, Murphy notes the Catholic Church also acknowledges the following:

    * Visions, or seeing invisible objects
    * Stigmata, the appearance of bleeding wounds which resemble those of Christ
    * Bilocation, the simultaneous appearance of an individual in two different places
    * Agility, the instantaneous movement of an individual from one point to another
    * Levitation, an individual’s ability to float in the air
    * Co-penetration of bodies, one person’s body passing through another’s
    * Inedia, the ability to live without eating for a long period of time
    * Bodily incorruptibility, the lack of decomposition after death.

nah i dunno, i think all that stuff is BS, i mean the book is called proof of our spiritual nature but the proof is "widely documented experiences of people encountering their guardian angel"?

thats like me writing a book about aliens and saying the proof is in the widely documented ufo sightings. or big foot. theres alot of bigfoot sightings is bigfoot real.

oh and we all know how "well documented" those sightings are, i mean u got that show "the haunting" where they film four hundreds and thousands of hours but never manage to catch a ghost, just a noise of something dropping in the dark, and everyone turning and gasping!

half the BS u just mentioned there is impossible. and your a silly person if you think any of it is possible, i mean making thigs appear out of thin air, gifts from the spirits are you serious man?

ok, ok dejavu is real, ill give you that...

but cmon if your gonna read some stuff like that why dont u read some reputable stuff.

for example i would really like to see something like that tested in a scientific controlled enviorment.

like an actual real scientist who has a graduate degree stand in front of a person in a room and say "ok, now teleport!"

yeah, i would really like to see that happen!

Hey there, not to say that isn't a gook book, it sounds interesting and quite informative, but becareful with certain books people, some contain only partial truth while the author fills in the blanks with what he "thinks" he "knows".
Always research with other books and such on the subject, cross-reference and use common sense. A good book usually offers other references to check out.
Be wary of those that say their words are absolute!!!

For example, ever hear of The 'Mallus Malefacorium', also known as 'The Witch Hammer?' It was created by the Catholic church during the middle ages to supposedly identify those in league with Satan, so the church can label someone a witch or heretic, then the law can arrest them, take their lands, torture and kill them, give the church a kick back... then move on to the next target.
Anyhow, it's filled with ridiculous misconceptions rather than facts...

I have a decent collection of books on many subjects, including metaphysics and such, and have gotten rid of a few that seemed misleading and lacked pieces, though the author said otherwise.

Just looking out and sharing some thoughts with ya... Peace...

As noted, the metaphysical/spiritual experiences listed are those which are dealt with briefly. As stated in the book:

"This book is designed to help you become acquainted with your true spiritual nature. It explores 10 primary areas of spiritual experience in depth, and briefly explains some five dozen additional traits. Those traits included are some of the more common, accessible, and deeply researched. But fully six times as many are not examined at length. We explore ghosts and apparitions, communication with the “dead,” near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences, reincarnation, channeling, remote viewing, the aura, telepathy and clairvoyance. Some of the areas not explored in depth here are real heavyweights, including meditation, dreams, intuition, angel encounters, spiritual guides, spiritual healing, levitation, bilocation, visions, prophecy and others.

"More than 80 variations of spiritual experience have been catalogued to date; it’s certain more will be included. For instance, there are eight distinct varieties of the out-of-body experience, and more than a half-dozen types of spiritual apparitions. The vast amount of evidence constitutes rational “proof” that our true nature, which most of us consider purely physical, is primarily spiritual. We must conclude on the basis of this evidence, that we are fully spiritual creatures – even though most of us have not awakened to that fact." (c) Awakening The Soul: The Trilogy

Also, the 15th Century inquisitors’ guidebook, the Malleus Maleficarium (Hammer of Witches), was compiled by two Dominican priests to guide attacks on women suspected of “witchcraft.”

It might also be wise to consider this advice:

"I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud."

He man, I'm not attacking your words or the fact you want to share these things with others-- I agree with you on letting people know more on various subjects, I just wanted to give some insight to other books that do contain false info, perhaps they'll learn to research more on their own and not easily except the first thing they come across.
Now you and I both know many of these things as real, as I have experienced many of them, and I'm sure you as well, but to those who said it's all BS, then they need to read more, hence my warning to read more than one author.
As for the witches hammer, yes, it did attack women, but also was a tool for the church to rise in power and gain wealth and tittles from confiscated land, thus in return, the king, lords, or barons would also benefit gaining fame amongst the nobles and such, roughly from a brief description...

Anyhow, whats the name of this book? Perhaps I'll add it to my library as yet another source of reference.

    Peace man,

The book is "Awakening The Soul: The Trilogy," which contains the three books in the ATS series: Book One: Proof of Our Spiritual Nature, Book 2: Our Suppressed Spiritual Nature, and Book 3: Restoring Your Spiritual Nature."

The books are available individually, or in one volume in the Trilogy, which gives the best bang for the buck.

    Hope you like it!

The difference between what you think and reality is huge, IMjustfishin. Much like the difference in your educational level and Soulman's. He has obviously spent a lot of time researching what he is talking about as I have. If you got your head out of the TV and actually started looking at the real evidence for that which you claim doesn't exist with an open mind, you would be able to clearly see that you are mistaken. Without looking anywhere else besides in your own mind, you can see how wrong you are in just a couple of weeks with little effort or difficulty and the possibility of more pleasure than you've previously experienced in this life.

5-star Review from Science of Mind magazine, April 2009:

    Awakening The Soul: The Trilogy
    Bill Missett
    Paperback $20.90
    AuthorHouse

In the extensively researched and deeply documented Awakening The Soul, former newspaper editor Bill Missett exposes centuries of church control over spiritual consciousness and presents a process to restore awareness of one’s spiritual nature.

Missett’s 25-year career in journalism instilled in him a skepticism of metaphysics and the paranormal. Then he nearly drowned. In that brush with death, he experienced a spontaneous case of two-way mental telepathy, an event startling enough to cause him to suspend his cynicism and begin a serious study of metaphysics and mystical experiences.

The results of this study, which led him to believe that so-called “mysterious phenomena” are actually latent abilities of the soul, are presented in this comprehensively footnoted trilogy.

Awakening The Soul details the systematic selection process and accompanying censorship of sacred texts that comprise what we know today as the Bible and presents a scholarly platform from which to reasonably question any fallibility.

He demonstrates that the suppressed texts were those that declare the inherent divine nature of each individual. Missett documents the process by which the church over the centuries cemented its position, claiming its adherents must seek an intermediary to access the divine.

Finally, Missett says that an empowered exploration of consciousness, reawakening one’s innate spiritual talents. will enrich daily living and support the positive evolution of the human race.

The book offers a lovely process designed to balance the overworked ego with the emerging sacred nature of one’s soul.

Readers who have found their way to New Thought through the pain of organized religion will find support and validation in this book. Those with an interest in church history will enjoy a comprehensive, authenticated account of the Christian religion and domination.

Those who wish to acknowledge and re-awaken their innate spiritual nature may begin this precious encounter with joy and satisfaction.

Brilliant work! A must for every Seeker of Truth, 31 Dec 2008
By Mr. RL Van Den Berg "lenv" (London UK) - See all my reviews

I have arrived at a spiritual place of understanding that took me away from my 30 year Mainstream Christian Path. Not because someone influenced me, but because I was guided by an inner voice to do 2 yrs ago. I did not know why at the time, but since I left my church I discovered the true nature of Mainstream Christianity and its deceptions.

The research done by Bill Missett in this book explained many of my suspicions. Here we have documented facts proving the bloodthirsty history of this institution which calls itself the Church. Christianity of today is vastly different to the Christianity Jesus left behind. I am on a quest to return to follow the footsteps of Jesus.

This book shows us how the church since 325AD eradicated the true message of the teachings of Jesus and replaced it with a set of deceptions, created to keep humanity in a spiritual wilderness. We have been in this wilderness for more than 17 centuries now and its time for us now to cross over that Jordan and take up our Divine Inheritance.

In order to do so we need to shed our wineskins and mindsets. We need to realize that not everything taught from a church pulpit is Truth. Then we need to return to seek out the true nature of the Divine within us, as the Gospel of Luke says: "The Kingdom is within".

Here are some really good eye-openers. Here are some really good guidelines to assist us in returning to our Divine Inheritance. We can return to our True spiritual nature. The seekers of the Kingdom will seek and find it, despite churches and Jezebellic institutions.

I hope that we all discover the Truths in this book and leave a life of wandering in the desert behind us.

Let's start with an English lesson. Never mind, you wouldn't pay attention anyway. My favorite angel story was told by a little girl and her mother on a television show I watched less than a month ago. When the girl was two years old, she fell in the pool at her home and drowned. Her mother was freaked out and panicked. She eventually got her daughter to the hospital where she was revived. When she started talking about the incident, she started telling her mother about the nice lady that came and took her hand and stayed with her in a bright light until she came back into her body in the hospital. Several weeks later, mother and daughter were in a store when the little girl started excitedly pointing at a picture on the wall saying "There's the lady that saved me!" It was a picture of a guardian angel. There are many such stories from people of all types of beliefs and social status all over the world. Check out any of the studies done on people who have had near death experiences.

But that's not acceptable as scientific evidence nor is much of anything of a metaphysical or paranormal nature because of the nature of scientism: the belief that science is infallible and the only explanation for all phenomenon. And yet, science itself doesn't understand even the most fundamental elements of the material world (a little quantum physics should show you how little YOU know about the material universe). I doubt you'll take the time to read this, but it is the most comprehensive collection of evidence covering metaphysical/paranormal phenomenon and the various studies that have been undertaken to prove/disprove its existence that I've seen during my search: http://www.openmindsite.com/dl/21days.pdf

Of course, the best proof for you is evidence that you can see or experience for yourself. There are many methods outlined on the internet for meeting your own guardian angel. You would actually have to do some prepatory work on visualization and stilling your thoughts which isn't really all that difficult, just time consuming. It is definitely worth the effort. You'll be grateful to yourself for taking the time. Don't let your self limiting thoughts keep you from discovering who you really are.

That's a nice story, she definately had an "out of body experience" or more known as Astral Projection... it seems she had another spirit, as some would call guardian angels, with her guiding her to stay nearby so she can "jump" back into her body and thus be revived.
I've had many experiences with Astral Projection when I was a practicing Pagan and such... it can be very dangerous to those who just want to try it because they think it would be cool or more likely a beginner in Wicca and they just read about it.
I too drowned at age 11, and came back 2 minutes after being declared dead, I asked the paramedic for a copy of the report, but he couldn't release it to a minor.
Any way, in years to come, when people I knew died, I always knew before someone called me, either from 'just sensing it' or from Astral Projection, such like when my friend Mike died... I remember hovering over my sleeping form with him next to me, I saw through my eyes as if I were still a physical being, but in spirit form, he turned to me and said..."it's ok... I don't feel anymore pain... two seconds after he faded and I jumped back in, I was awakened by phone call from my brother telling me he died. I said I know, and he wondered how, but wouldn't believe me if I explained, so I left him in wonder.
So I say Live and Let Live, meaning be content with what you know and not worry about those who refuse to listen or even try to believe. If they never had any experience's then they most likely won't.

    Peace Everyone

Actually, it's better known as a Near Death Experience, not astral travel. Almost all Near Death Experiences involve going through a tunnel of some sort with a bright light at the end and meeting either deceased loved ones or some sort of angelic personality before coming back to the body. Certainly it starts out like astral travel where they sense themselves leaving the body and observe their body lying there with the doctors and nurses working on it or some such. Most often it is a life changing experience and has made believers out of adamant insisters that there is no such thing as an afterlife or a God.
I agree that there are some people out there that will never believe no matter how much anecdotal or other evidence they are shown or told about. However, there are also probably plenty of people who are like I was less than a year ago that aren't quite sure what they believe and want to know more. I'm hoping that someone like this may find comfort and useful information in what is posted here.

Yes, that is another term for it, and possibly more well known, but the "out of body experience" often occurs with it. For some people,NDE typically starts with the sensation of floating above the body and seeing the surrounding area, followed by passing through a tunnel, meeting relatives or friends, and concluding with meeting a being of light before jumping back in.

But this all occurs within the Astral Realm, which is the realm of thought, not physical. In Astral projection, the conscious mind leaves the physical body but is linked with your body so you can jump back in. This also happens with NDE.

In other words, your spirit is an Astral being in a physical form, until it moves into the Astral realm which is multi-dimensional, where time has no meaning. You can exist in the same space as the living and all they may feel is a bit colder for a moment, unless they're a person who's 'aware'.

    Good discussion BTW,
    CYA

    Right on man...

I checked out that book and found both positive and negative feedback about it. You already know the positive part, but I think you should hear the negative too...
The review said, quote... "The author claims his work is well researched yet on page three of book two not only does he misquote Jesus in John 10:34 as He(Jesus) is quoting from Psalm 82 as it refers to the divine appointment of the judges of Isreal, he erroneously implies from that text that Jesus is teaching that we are "all gods" possessing mystical abilities. To use the bible in this way is nothing short of raping this sacred text for journalistic gratification. This puts his entire work in question as far as this reader is concerned. this is just another New Age assult on the Bible and the church. Buyer Beware!"

Sounds to me like a die hard Christian is defending the bible no matter what the author is trying to show the people, by pointing out certain flaws in the book. His point is valid on the text and the possibility of more flaws, but his ignorance of taking the Bible "as is" like most of the world, will keep him ever programmed from looking outside the box and the Bibles job is complete. It was written to do just that, program people... if it wasn't, they would've put in the other sacred texts deliberately kept out of it. They "church and state" don't want people to be aware, they want them to be obedient to easily control them.
So far, only a handful are aware that do look outside the box and are only controlled as far as the system is concerned for paying rent and such.
So I say if you like the book and it works for you, then great, but also cross reference key points to see the knowledge from other points of view... that and experience helps one find true wisdom.

There is one error in the current text, which is being corrected as we speak, which in NO way detracts from the message in Awakening The Soul. The error is Jesus saying "we are all gods" instead of correctly saying, "we are gods," which does not change the context of the quote at all.

You are correct that the critic was a fundamentalist Christian, who has admitted to me that he he just has a gut feeling that the Bible is totally correct, in spite of all the contradictions and inconsistencies it contains.

But nevertheless, it was an error, and is being corrected.
