I am buying the kit with the posters, stickers, T-shirt, bracelet, ect. It is only 30 bucks. If you have the money to spare please throw some their way and put up these posters around your city! If you can't afford the kit, the bracelet is only 10 bucks. Every little bit counts!
wtf someone just posted this on facebook like 2 minutes ago >.> It was an "event invitation" to like put up flyers of this guy or something
Yeah, he is piece of shit! I can't believe he does that shit to children just because he wants to. I know this happens all over the world and most people have no idea! Taking down this sick fuck is one step towards ending this sick shit!
There is a thread, but it's named something like "watch this video" Good job! This guy needs to fall and fall hard.
yeah.. he's been doing this since the late 80s... and just now we see a problem with it? jesus fucking christ... I see no difference between him and our leaders... we too send plenty of people's children to kill in the name of the lord..oh i mean "spread democracy"
There's seriously not a thread yet? Well, this movement has gone viral after a video was posted on YouTube. Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc"]KONY 2012 - YouTube
how many people don't already know about this? this campaign seems weird to me, because i assumed that the majority of people knew all about Kony and the LRA, but the way this is taking off leads me to believe that i'm wrong. i don't like how they basically tell you to buy shit in order to spread the word. why can't they just give you a poster to print off of your computer and put up instead of buying them? seems as much a marketing campaign for invisible children as it is a campaign to spread awareness about what an asshole Kony is.
I didn't know until yesterday... I ain't buying anything though. And to the OP... Yes there is a thread or two already.
Yeah, I was surprised that more people didn't know about it. I was called afrocentric in high school when I complained about us studying the holocaust while not mentioning of any of the other genocides in history (especially in Africa) and now after this video, I see the same people calling me names preaching about the atrocity in a place where they can't even point out on a map.
Technically people in this country choose to join the army, whereas Kony abducts them at gun point then forces them to kill their parents. I agree that the US military are no saints, but you wouldn't catch them doing that stuff on a regular basis. And yes, this sort of thing has been going on for a long time, in many countries - all the more reason to start acting, and stop making excuses to do nothing.
Someone needs to take him out! It just pisses me off that this is not a priority of Governments. This guy Kony, molests little girls and kills kids! He's the biggest waste of a human!
On every forum I attend there's a thread about Kony and I'm still not interested in knowing who/what/where it is.
It's a very good thing to get people involved and aware of African politics, and the LRA has significantly affected modern African politics. So I mostly think this is a good thing, but I'm slightly wary of it's message and how it's marketed on youtube. The LAR, almost completely unconnected with Kony in the DRC, had been a party of a war that's killed 6 million people in the DRC since 1998. South central does need help, it's just hard to talk a bunch of dispersant groups we've forced into slavery for hundreds of years to form arbitrarily defined countries that the international community wants what's best for them. It hasn't so far... I do support the Pan Africanism of the video though.
Could only watch about 1 minute due to the icky humanizing tone of the video and "humanity's greatest desire is to share and connect", a statement based on nothing whatsoever. Yuck. That's not to say the "movement" is garbage though. Could someone explain what it is in less than 30 words so I don't have to watch this crap?
i wouldn't bother giving my money to the "Invisible Children" seems like it would be more helpful to call or email the 12 law makers they mention in the video. or you could start a petition on a site like change.org, and set it up so that each time someone signs it sends an email to all 12 of the lawmakers. that would do far more than a $30 "make kony famous" package
