With all due respect, that show was finished before the first season started

Tell that to those who have a contract like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. :)

It's dead. Simon Cowell is unleashing the X Factor in America next year.

Say hello to the next couple of famous British faces in America.

I think American Idol is miles better then what we get over here.

Oh, and I love Dermot, but you guys can have Cheryl... and I'll throw in Dannii.

The X Factor is much better than American Idol. Simon Cowell obviously agrees.

Cheryl will be very, very famous by this time next year.

It might be, if they changed it. It's all about the judges bickering, and pretty much only showing the awful singers, who get stopped and made to sing another song that just so happens to be pretty good, so that Simon looks oh so clever. Then the best singers get thrown off and the bad ones left to win

Isn't that the exact same as American Idol?

From what I have seen of it the standard of talent is better, and in it seems to me that there is a focus on talent rather than looks alone.

Sort of. It's basically American Idol with the kinks ironed out. Expect me arguing, though.
