i remember the contravery about this show..... i didnt think they were gonna show it because the amish community/adults didnt want it made... being that it's kinda a mockery of the culture and lifestyle and also cruel to the teenagers. but they're showing it for two hours tonight. a bunch of amish teenagers that grew up without electricity or anything are moving in with "regular" teenagers in the city. i might watch it just because..... i dont know if i think it's right thoughl
Is it about the year that Amish teens get to spend in the outside world before they make the decision whether to return or stay in the modern world forever, or its just a spoof?
they need guidance in cramming a decade of vice , perversion , and cool machienes ....all into one year!
im not quite sure if it's a spoof or not. they say it isnt and the amish community (trust me... i know, i live right by them)- sure doesnt act like it's a spoof... but who knows?
I wish that a scumbag TV producer would put some Amish folk in my town; I'd buy an ice cream cone and smear it all over their motherfucking, backward-assed, nonviolent faces.
hehe brian. yera goon. um, wonka... i know it's on one of the major networks. it premiers tonight from 8 to 10 pm.
I guess my question is....how did these Amish come up with a TV deal? I mean who agreed to the show? And if they didn't want to be in the spotlight..wouldn't they have said no? Exploitatioin with permission is not exploitation, its......SAY IT WITH ME KIDS...........S-T-U-P-I-D-I-T-Y. And everyone has the right to be stupid
um, the network came up with the idea and came around to diff. amish farms, recruiting teenagers to be on the show....
WELLLL.... i was gonna watch it but "due to the controversial content it's not premiering tonight and is gonna be reviewed to see if it ever will air"
The Amish lifestyle must accelerate the aging process. These kids are saying that they are 20 and 24 but they all look 30+
I think the Amish are awesome. There are a lot of them moving into my parent's area. My mom sold one of her farms to them. They have the most beautiful horses. They are excellent carpenters too, I love their work.
i have lived around them for about 5 years as well. they have a community in southern maryland. and let me tell you, they are some of the most kind folk around. they are so community based(i guess thats all they have) but they do extend their arms outward beyond their community. after my mother had her car accident, we had several offers from them to help in any way possible. hehe. wouldnt it have been funny if some had babysat us?
Hot town, Amish in the city Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty Been down, isn't it a pity Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city...... Will this be the theme song?
they played the damn show here.....and the 30 seconds that i watched with made me promptly shut the damn TV off.....
