Am I the only one who finds it amusing that stores says things that are mass produced and have the Anarchists logo upon them? Kinda ironic and hypocritical aint it?

Anarchy signs are everywhere...it's pathetic. So counterproductive. People harp on *keepin' the new generations mind clean* and they so casually throw around the anarchy sign, pushing it into the minds of today's youth...wondering why we are the way we are....

I always knew that hot topic sported them. Hot Topic is counter-culture for mainstream. Its a store for preps really. It actually caught my attention when a kid wearing one of the mass produced patches acused me of being an anarchist for attention. I laughed and laughed... I think we need a new logo...

 

Is it any different than the mass-produced sweatshop t-shirts with a picture of Che on them?

 

i never went into Hot Topic but then this one friend always wore rolling stones t-shirts and the doors t-shirts (stuff like that is hard too find in a pittsburgh suburb) and so i asked where she got them and she said Hot Topic.....

so i was plannin on goin in just for the hell of it....

but what am i sayin i can always order online.....

oh wait i dont got a creditcard.....

Nope... not really... Which is why I dont wear those shirts. Its all a marketing ploy. The Anti Capitalist movement utilizing capitalism...

 

a guy I go to school with has a hoodie with the anarchy sign on it. One day I said to him "You know, the taxes you paid on that sweatshirt go to the government right?" he said "what?" I told him to have fun with it...

It's funny how many people wear clothing with the anarchy sign, or a picture of Che Guevara on them...and don't have the slightest idea what is meant by them...

 

what is the anarchy sign anyway? i never heard of it. i figured anarchists wouldn't want to be noticed, at least not right away. i'm kind of an anarchist i just don't group myself with other people. maybe that's why i dont know what the sign is?

 

A circle with an A inside it, and the cross-thingy of the A touches the sides of the circle. Don't ask, I have a friend who's really into anarchy....

 

why doesn't someone come up with thier own anarchy sign? something really nasty that people wouldn't throw around...like someone spreading their legs or masturbating. people can spray paint it all over brick walls and such.

well, the a thing is cute, but it doesn't really stress anarchy. we anarchists need something that will disgrace america. a drawing of an eagle flying holding onto a burning flag would be kinda cool, and it would draw some attention. i actually had seen that a thing before, but i thought it stood for abercrombie....

 

I really like to cut out a cross with a little border type thing in a stencil and spray that on the shoulder of my clothes. After I stopped being so active with ABC though it didn't feel right so I stopped. I don't think an anarchaic symbol should have any ties or symbols representing america because anarchy is a universal idea. Its not just anti US... I was kinda thinking of a sun with a red core and black flares...

 

the sun thing sounds cool, but the government would just make a profit from it.

Why would you make a sign for it? Is'nt the idea of anarchy no political authority, havoic, chaos, illogic? Making a sign is against anarchy.
I'm confused by people who fight over anarchy, discuss it and such. Anarchy is praise of the illogic, but if you do things like fight(fighting for what you belive in-logical), create groups and clicks(logic again) and create symbols and signs(unifying your group into an set organization), so really, in the act of going against the system and logic itself, you're creating a whole other society, one without anarchy, one with logic. The only way to successfully create anarchy is in an organized group, which obviously is'nt anarchy.
The only thing that really makes the anarchy concept work is that logic is inconsistant and subject to change.
I still don't like hot topic.
