lol no.. its just, its really ordinary music. i can listen to neil young or other artists who write similar music and be carried away , because of greater melodies, greater voices... and even then, Neil Young is not god. The Dead are too popular for their music i find... its more what they did , what they were pioneers of that make them who they are... but the dead's music is... really not that great

well, i like the grateful dead.

i think they are overrated in some aspects though.

Their music is nothing like neil young, it's a different genre. It's hard to compare them to other artists because they almost pioneered their own style which many people have integrated into their own music.

 

I was just listening to Box of rain on my way home from work. I was listening to the Phil Lesh and friends performance at Bonnaroo from a few days ago. They did Box of Rain for the encore .

Then I come home and in my mailbox are my tickets for next Friday to see Phil and Friends at the Tweeter Waterfront, with Trey and Mike Gordon and Bennevento/Russo duo opening up.

Then I come here and find this thread about Box of rain.

I cant fucking wait till next Friday !!

 

i meant a particular mood, when i put on neil young or GD its cuz im in the mood for this type of music. kinda flows the same for me... mellow and summerish. like a day in the fields.
