And so my one week dread journey has ended.

After months of research and about 10 hours of pain, I had baby dreads. But I dress almost gothic and I have red hair.. I looked like sideshow bob gone goth. I realized the companies saying your dreads can tight within a couple months were full of shit.. It wasn't what i expected. So I brushed them out and salvaged my hair while I still could.

Feel free to throw insults at me for my naivety. I still think dreads are the most awesome hairstyle on the planet.. Maybe someday I'll have them but not now.. This was the worst possible time I could have attempted this. But at last I learn some valuable lessons. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice.

Fake dreads are lame.. I'll just wait until I have some more patience and more time on my hands then perhaps someday in the distance future I'll get dreads... But I'm graduating highschool in a couple months and trying to get into a good college and looking for a job so this was like the absolutely worst time I possibly could have started dreads lol.

One, your not going to need a Full-time serious Job in College, you have four years to prepare, or two whatever your going for.
Two, There not going to say No, you cant go to college with dreads.

So your two excuses are lame. I both have a job and go to college and have dreads. I think a few people on here do as well.

*edit* I don't see why your college should ever know what you look like before you show up... I know mine didn't. They don't care at all, either way. They take your money, they give you education and drinking friends... pretty simple really, hair doesn't have much to do with it.

And I think it's interesting how he's a goth yet has red hair... I'm curious as to how that looks... a lot of goths I've seen with lighter colored hair typically dye it black.

 

I'm not making excuses cuz I don't need to make excuses lol it was just a bad time to start dreads... I'm afraid I'm just not ready for that kind of commitment.
