any body with chimny building exp. ???

i just laid up a flue using flue block started my second fire and (what i call a nipple i know it goes by a diff. but it eludeds me right now)cracked any ideas oe what to do now? ive been thinking build a box and then fill it with a vermiculite mix any sugg. would be app. i dont want to try and remove it and chance breaking the liner heeeelp!!!!

your thimble cracked??? is it thru the wall type??

if so as long as you have enough of a fire break around it i wouldnt worry about it..

when i installed my thimble i built a form about 30 by 30 round it and filled it with concrete,,the thimble isnt a fire stop,,so a crack shouldnt matter if it was installed proper...

 

ya its thru the wall and i havnt done that pour yet i planned to use a vermiculite portland mix for the reduced weight and insulating properties so i geuss that should take care of it any outher sugestions welcome!! thanks hippy!!! peace

 

dont burn yer wall up before ya figure it out...

only other suggestion i have,, an trust me i almost did..

but now ive burnt probably,,1600 cords thru same said fire flue...
