I'm just curious because if it is too far away might as well start planning now, saving money for gas ect. It'd be nice if I could get a inkling of a idea of it's wereabouts.

I am going in 2008 and would like to see it in the NW or a far northern location.

I hate the heat and would like a cool July gathering.

Bring yer long johns and down coat. Be prepared for snow. In '94 I ended up staying up all night by a fire to stay warm, and sleeping in the day, to stay warm.

wyomming snow in mid july is very common, i hate the heat too, but hate the cold even more..in utah, i stayed by the fire every night shivering till i saw the 1st hints of light on the horizon, then grabbed 5 or 6 hot rocks, curled up in my sleeping bag hugging the hot rocks for warmth, got 2-3 hours sleep before waking up sweatting my ass off..the temp range could be 20's at night, 90's durring the day.
but i'm definately looking forward to it, i missed the last wyoming gathering & really regretted it.
    i cant wait.

Last WY Gathering was real dry, that was the year we fought the major fire, and it snowed on the 8th of July, but it was a beautiful Gathering just the same. That was also the year that It's A Beautiful Day Cafe combined with Popcorn Palace

it can be sucky but you just have to find ways to stay warm. at the idaho annual...i would stay up most of the night until the sun made it's way up over the mountains ridge...then i'd drag my sleeping bag out into the middle of the meadow and go to sleep in the nice warm sunshine. i also found some really nice cuddle buds : )

That's really cool. I would love to go to a gathering that had some really cool nights.

I roughed it in Laramie, WY one summer. It got pretty cool at night up there too.

Was it the 8th? I remember the snow, but I think I remember it as right after the fire (3 Jul), 4th or 5th...Am I getting old, or have I poked too much smot?

I know it snowed the day we left & we never leave until the 8th
    :spliff:

It snowed in Montana right before we got there (shivers) snow-a four letter word of undenyable distaste 'round here...
