Any ideas on how to improve the forum?

(I know there will be some that will feel the urge to snipe, please try and resist).

Aris and I have talked about this privately but what do you think?

No subforums except for the poll maybe? I remember both when the music and this forum were divided into even more sub forums traffic seemed to go down a lot, probably for all the people that would just randomly browse and sometimes respond not seeing as many threads anymore. With RT gones there's obviously a lot of people who don't really come back to anywhere on hip forums anymore, and a lot of people who use to post in here a lot seem to be gone.(some I miss, some meh, conspiracy theorists I'm looking at you).

But with the current level of traffic and how it's been for a while I don't think we really need the socialism, libertarians, America Attacks, ect forum. The poll sub forum I can understand keeping. If all traffic is concentrated in one place it might get the ball rolling more on conversation.

 

Yeah, we've discussed eliminating the subforums and I think it's a good idea.

I'm not sure of your meaning either Balbus. Can you explain? I just thought the forum would be improved with a little art.

 

It's kind of frightening me how much I'm agreeing with Hiptastic lately.

 

Would anyone like to see an alternative political press archive/resource?

I could make one specifically for our little politics forum here. We can include suggestions from everyone and make motions to sticky it. It could be a nice little pilot project to help peak people's interest and for us all to stay on track and informed. Maybe we can get a little political reference thing going on.

 

Politics is one of those things which usually ends up at a dead end. People talk about political ideas that are largely hypothetical at best, and debating ism's is usually a moot point. For this particular sub-forum I wouldn't even know how to begin to improve it.

 

We could even have a little tracker, everyone posts and updates their representatives.

That way whenever there may be a cause or an event on the HipForums Board anywhere, we have a tool to get in touch with politicians and keep each other informed and updated on current political movements.

the top thread hasn't changed for days/ weeks from what i have seen.

you have stood by and allowed this to happen.

good for the malicious entities that strangled the forum bad for free speech

rid these forums of the noxious weeds

How about rather than calling others "noxious weeds"...
why not POST a new thread.
I've tried my best.

I do think the sub-forums should go...
...as people seem to be talking about current affairs rather than the politics of politics.
I do think America Attacks should go...
...not replaced with "We love Obama"....but something a little less aggressive.
