The Naked Time on Star Trek TOS first aired September 29, 1966. The Naked Time is the episode where the water from the planet was altered by huge shifts in its gravity, resulting in complex strings of water molecules that had the ability to propagate themselves and spread like a contagion to members of the Enterprise crew thru touch. Dr. McCoy found the molecules then affected humanoids like alcohol, depressing the centers of judgment and self-control. But when Spock was infected by the chemicals, he walks into the briefing room alone and then goes into this emotional rant as he chokes back tears: "I'm in control of my emotions. Control of my emotions. I am an officer. An officer. My duty. My duty is, is. My duty is to, to. Too late. I'm sorry. To. Two, four, six. Six. Six times six." Here's the actual scene: Didn't Leonard Nimoy look like he was genuinely having a mental meltdown as he did that scene? I sometimes wonder what thoughts actors use to get them to that state. Because otherwise Spock is easy to do because he was so calm.
