interested to know as ive never done it

 

I've met some friends through internet.. And I met my last two boyfriends on the net..
The internet is a great place to find people who think like you.

 

Met my boyfriend on another message board. Yesterday was our one year anniversary! We have a crazy insane relationship that in reality shouldn't work, but it does.

 

I have met some really great people on the net; I dated one for a while and we are still friends, 8 years later!

 

ok... i had a BAD experience meeting a fella off the 'net.

one word of wisdom:

always request a photo before you meet!

thankfully, i brought a friend along, so we were able to bail very easily.

 

16 people and counting...and yes a coupla few have been relationships.
Its been a wonderful way to reach out all in all but the only suggestion I have talked to them for quite awhile prior to meeting them.Another suggestion is to able to in some way confirm their background, make sure they are what they say they are. Anyone can tell yah anything about how wunnerful they are and what their life is like but when you have absolutely no contact with anyone that they are associated with or their home they can be blowing smoke up yer ass. ~*Caveat Emptor*~

 

Not yet! I have a friend I met online...and I'm going to England to meet him for the first time,very soon. I think fate brought us together...and it did so with the help of the internet. Getting to know him this way has been amazing....so yeah,I think meeting people from online is a great thing. Always be safe though and trust your instincts.

 

I met my girlfriend in these forums - wasn't looking for it nor expecting it and have found myself the most wonderful woman I could ever ask for.

I've made a few good friends from this site as well. Its never been my intention to make friends 'online', but I feel very fortunate to have met all of them.

 

awww i'm sad... i've been talking with a guy the past three months and we had planned to meet up in august~~ but all of a sudden the conversation has dwindled and he hasn't called me or anything in awhile so i don't think it's going to happen now
I was really looking forward to it and now I'm just so let down... blah.... I know I can't find anyone like him around here..so i definitely think meeting people on line can be a good idea. It's a good way to get to know someone and I think it's a better way of meeting someone than going to a bar getting drunk and making a mistake haha... just use caution cuz ya never know, there are predators out there Oh and also be honest from the beginning cuz you never know if it will lead to more.... I think being too honest was my problem haha... letting my true dorky nature be known scared him away...

havent met anyone here yet. i was gonna meet a friend but he got sick real bad while i was in his town so we didnt get to hang. theres a couple peeps on ehre id like to meet though, especially one.

In the late 80's I met a pen-pal I had from OZ . Although pretty soon I maybe meeting a bunch of peeps from another forum for a laugh, all of us getting together for a lazer place fight etc lol. All in UK though mainly. Wouldn't mind visiting OZ again or the USA for certain reasons .

 

Oh, good advice health wise, drink bottled water like 'Highland Spring' + don't eat strange food no matter where you go !, Plus, make sure you get the right injections / vaccinations too !

It's mostly just instinct and a question of if schedules permit. I'd love to meet several people I speak to on a regular basis that live in England. Hell, I'd like to just get to England, even without knowing anyone. I want to get over there so bad. For 14 years I've been dreaming about England. Maybe one day I'll get over there, although meeting Tommy and some of the others I chat with may never be a reality.
In answer to your question, yes, I have. But only once. I'd consider doing it again, so long as I keep my wits about me.
Only dring a beverage you bring with you, meet in public, definitely request a picture so you can see what they look like and pick them out of a crowd, if you don't know what to look for, you might be in for an unpleasant (or dangerous) surprise.

your fiance aye lol . You are right about meeting in public though etc and all the other cautions if you haven't really known them long. But then again, I'd only known the lass as a penpal a few months or so + got a chance to go to oz, thus I just upped and went lol. Met in a bus station and she took me to her place. I didn't even give any precautions a second thought ha ha. Lucky she wasn't a psyhopath aye lol? Too trusting sometimes aye ? Whoa, your fiance only 2 miles away from a personals site !! Now that was lucky ! Most of my penpals were in other countries world wide ha ha. You never know though about meeting pen + cyber pals as I met a fair few of my penpals back then and like I said, there is possibly gonna be a main get together of some peeps from another forum. Actually, a few years back a load of people from worldwide from the jumpgate game got together for the weekend in Amsterdam + just got stoned ha ha. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, who knows, thats part of what life is about yes ?

 

I'm constantly being shocked by how much we have in common. The first time I met him I went to his place. I guess we're both rather trusting. Wanna meet me? LoL I want to say it was a success, however, it's been over a year and things are VERY SHAKY. But still, I'm straying from the original question. Ramble, ramble, ramble...
