I have given serious thought to becomming a MMJ Caregiver here in California. I have seen the process involved in getting a state issued ID card. A legit MMJ patient can declare me as thier caregiver, and once approved, I can then grow thier meds for them. Okay, that sounds easy enough - but where does a potential caregiver find a patient in need of a grower for thier meds? Is there some organization that pairs you up or something? Does anyone have any info on how this works? I haven't been able to find any helpful information.

I have read, on this Forum, that cannabis clubs are charging "street prices" or higher for MMJ - that just ain't right!!! If an ailing patient can't grow thier own, they should at least be able to get it at a reasonable cost. Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

It depends on the club you go

Before clubs, top weed was $60+ now $40+.

With 140 clubs in state theres alot of great priced ones.

The reason Marijuana costs just as much at Clubs as they do on the street:

why would a grower sell their weed to clubs real cheap when they can make much more $ by selling it "on the street"?
Yes the clubs sell weed at the going rate. Weed they sell for example for $100 a 1/4 oz they pay the grower approx. $75. So the grower is already taking a cut in price to be able to sell legally. The clubs sell for more than they pay (like any retail store) to pay the employee's, rent, electricity, etc.
Good weed will always be expensive because of the time (especially with outdoor grows) and the expense (especially with indoor grows).

I guess the only diff between selling to clubs vs "street" would be the legality.

Bloody.. US of A. Legalize it!

One advantage for buying your weed at a club is that you don't have to buy your medicine from a gang member with tattoo's all over his shaved head in an alley, at night.
Someone who might just take your $ and split; what are you gonna do about it?
Also it gives people who have at least 1 thing in common a place to congregate and socially interact with others in a safe environment.

    I grow my own.
But in the L.A. area, lots of street-level dealers are gang members.
