yes, ive made tea twice and both times were incredible! it hits you faster and you don't get the horrible indigestion. i recommend brewing the shrooms with a tea by celestial seasonings called mandarin orange spice, and then add honey - shroom flavor is completely covered. it is so good. expect a normal-length trip and a lot of clarity. it's really not much different except for the fact that it hits you faster, and you can make a smaller amount go a longer way.

oh, and you can steep them a second time for another less-potent round... what method did you use, exactly?

I've had mushroom tea probably as many times as regular tea. And that is a lot, mind you

I can only have magic mushrooms that way - or basically I spend my trip on the toilet

i vastly prefer mushroom tea to eating the mushrooms. i've taken it a good 30+ times in various dosages.

next time i would advise against boiling them.

i've made many posts on what i believe to be the ideal method of preparation, but dont care to go into specifics right now.

the few times i've ingested mushrooms any other way has resulted in vomiting, which in the past i liked to avoid.

these days if i took mushrooms again, i'd be more open to eating them and welcoming the cleansing purge.

however mushroom tea is wonderful. take a big dose on a light stomach, and try not to drink it TOO fast.

I did once in Sweden and it was a peaceful experience.

Open minded, intelligent, creative interesting people, around a campfire on a warm Swedish summer night in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and lakes at the farm of my hosts.

no! don't boil your shrooms! pour the hot water over them and allow them to steep in the near-boiling water, and then use a tea strainer.

though i suppose it worked, seeing how you haven't posted since you created the thread...

exactly. boiling will decrease the efficacy, definitely. i recommend steeping for about 20 minutes, and zillas right you can put them in for a second steep for a weaker brew later to ensure you get all the goodies.

i personally prefer adding honey and a strongly flavored tea, either black tea or a stronge tasting herbal tea. my standard though is normally earl grey.

i prefer tea in part because of the ceremonial aspects of the preparation. you end up preparing not only the tea but yourself for the experience. but then i look at these things as a pseudo-religious experience, and have a bit of a different take on it than do many people who use mushrooms.

but i like preparing a nice quiet, private space in my home or in a secluded area outdoors, preparing the mushrooms themselves to be brewed (i prefer fresh, but dried works almost as well), i used to have a nice ceramic teapot for steeping but it broke, adding the mushrooms, tea, and honey to the pot, adding the water, meditating for a while and burning incense before pouring the tea, and sipping the tea in nice little teacups (four cups per dose, unless i was preparing for more than myself, then i'd make it stronger and drink fewer cups) for about as long as i steeped them, still meditating.

by the time i'd finish the tea, i'd already be feeling first alerts.

i advise against drinking it too fast. if you make it really strong and down it all in a single gulp, you can feel it in as little as 10 minutes or less, and it can be a shock.

but yeah, zilla has good advice here....

hope your trip is nice. i haven't used the mushrooms you're using, only cubensis. used to grow my own. no longer though. in a few years i may resume the practice :cheers2:

    only smoked.
i have a friend who has ingested them, with little effect beyond drowsiness.

fwiw i'd sooner use HBWR. subpar compared to psilocybian mushrooms, but its a better choice than amanitas. just so long as you take a strong enough dose, and plenty of ginger and cannabis to counter the GI upset

as would I. I'm not even looking for legal psychs anyway, if amanitas are even considered psychs. I'd probably do them if they were offered to me.

yeah, i didnt have to buy them myself.

they're slightly interesting smoked. i have little interest in them at all, though.

fwiw the friend who had and tried them is a longtime drug abuser, and is rather heavily medicated with antidepressants, antipsychotics, ADD medication, etc., and also is rather overweight. he is able also to take quite large quantities of most drugs with lesser effects than most other people.

the fact that he merely felt tired from them should not suggest they have no value.

i just personally am not interested in them.

When I grow this will be the method I injest. I love, love, LOVE tea, and this would just be magical for me. The ritual, the respect, the rapid onset, the lack of gastro side effects . . . what's not to like? :)

The hard part is getting off my ass and GROWING!

    tell me about it.
when Penny & I were together we acquired some spores and they just sat around for months because we couldn't be bothered to get a tank. and then my mom threw them out.

I've tried amanitas. It was a very mild trip. The most pronounced effects were the profuse sweating and the dick pain. Yes....dick pain. It made my dick feel as though there were thousands of tiny needles being jabbed into it. It was the most painful sensation I have ever experienced

i've seen them classified that way, yes. but this type of thing is often open to argument in some situations. for instance, most drug users make a habit of using subpsychedelic doses even when using psychedelic substances (i.e. 1.75-3.5g dried cubensis is standard, but in my experience this may produce elements of psychedelia, but for me is not fully psychedelic. for me a FULLY psychedelic dose is more in the area of 5-6g dried, and 3.5g or less is more euphoric and empathogenic, with some mildly psychedelic-like effects. but thats my personal opinion...many other people say they "trip balls" from a half-eighth)

the difference between empathogen and psychedelic is not always clear, and similarly in my opinion the difference between a psychedelic and a deliriant is not always clear either, but empathogens and deliriants are obviously VERY different....

it all kind of blends together -sometimes-

give someone enough LSD and they will show signs markedly similar to delirium....
