Anyone hate MTV as much as me?

I really hate music videos, I think they just ruin the music. Anyone agree? disagree?

 

I agree, I totally am against everything MTV stands for. They just advertise pop/punk sell out bands because it's more lucrative...they call it "Music" television but I hardly consider Ashlee Simpson music.

I mean, different strokes for different folks...but pass on MTV. It'll brainwash you.

Hopefully someday it'll be about the music again.

I dont think they ruin the music. Most of what they play wasn't good to start with.

 

I dunno, i think if they played the kinda music im into, then id be ok with it, but i dont like the shit they play, what ever happened to rock n roll, oh well nothin i can do bout it.

 

i like mtv...and i like music videos

 

There was a band on mtv I liked yesterday. I was so surprised!! YAY! Finally working on my level of groove. I think the guys name was Franz Ferdinand or something like that, but I was really into the song. Started out kinda lame, then the beat changes and the guitar really kicks in, made me want to get up and scream, "OoOoOOoOoO YEAH!!!!!" but I didn't.

But shows like the "Ashley Simpson show" suck ass. I don't care what she is doing 24/7 even if it was the "Roger Daltrey show" I still wouldn't want to know that bad. I might watch it in secret though... but that is another story because I dislike both jessica and ashley simpson's music. oh, anyways, I don't even make sense anymore I need to go to bed.

MTV should have a new reality show they show 14 hours a day completely based on socks. Damn, that would rock. Oh, and I like on MTV2 they had a show with the "Little Steven's Underground Garage" guy, he's my favorite radio show, and I also think Bevis & Butthead is funny at 4AM. MTV isn't what it used to be. Oh well... I'll change that.

I like music videos provided they arent just a bunch of Live shows spliced together. Static-X has some cool ones. Godsmack had a really earthy one for Voodoo

 

You have to remember that music videos are pretty old. Even one Bob Dylan had music videos. Not the kind you would think of though!

 

the only real problem i have with MTV is that they are hardly deserving of the title 'MUSIC television', half of their programming has little to do with music. i dont care that most of the videos suck, it's the artists fault, not MTVs. or the directors fault i guess.

 

yeah i hate it too the problem is the harras music too much man to be honest i dont no wat im talking about but i do love the streets album.

 

i love MTV. a bit commercial, but wonderfully mindless entertainment.

They almost never play music

And when they do play "music" it's mostly rap or hip hop, which should not be considered a form a music.

yeah you're right, and the mtv channel is born in 1981 like me ...I'm sure that Reagan and MTV destroy good music ...good rock'n roll is dead in the early 80's (82 is maybe the last good year but just just just)
But i can't agree totally to what you said...ok for mtv ...but there's always 20% of good music in MTV ...there's always good music videos and artistic videos...i hate specially the most part of r'n'b and rap videos with those women who shake their ass over the camera...is this music ?
People who buy those single are often stupid (and naive)...too much people buy a single (or an album) for a sexy & attractive video...and this can kill slowly music...this is a virus...

 

I have to agree with you abot Mtv in my oppinion it sux. but not because of the vidios but the lack of musical vidios at all no a rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrepeat of 20 songs day after day after day after day after day after day after day after day. that is when they play any at all i mean com on what does the real word made reality tv road rules ditsy and dum azzs love afair .what does any of that have to do with MUSIC

 

i don't know i never watch it, havent watched more than 4 music videos in the last 3 years.......

 

I haven't watched MTV in years. they have too much crap on there and not enough music.

The last time I watched a music video I was flipping through the 3 channels I got in this weird creepy hotel room and I seen the video for "she will be loved" by Maroon 5
(I think that song is by Maroon 5) and it looked like this dude was kissing this girl's mom!! I was disgusted and havn't been curious since. Not that it was a good song, but it ruined it for me. I couldn't listen to it without thinking of my man kissing my mom!
