just wondering if cops are still busting you guys or even making a big deal out of weed. have you ever actually had the cops called on you for smoking since the decriminalization?

i did all my sketchy smoking in high school before this bill, but i never had problems with the law anyway, no encounters or anything because the cops around there didn't know me and so didn't bother me.

but yeah i was thinking about it today and wondering if anyone here has still gotten hassled?

I haven't been hassled at all since weed was decriminalized here in MA. It's quite strange, almost like being in Amsterdam to an extent, because I don't feel paranoid or nervous anymore when smoking outside or while driving. There is a $100 ticket for possession, but no one I know has gotten one, and I heard that they didn't even print them up until a few months ago. So for all you smokers out there, come to Massachusetts; it's definitely the place to be right now.

How is it at college? I plan on going to UMass Amherst, and I don't wanna get kicked out of school for weed.

    umass amherst!

tons of my friends go there and i was considering transferring over to it next year.

ive never actually been up there to hang out but apparently it's a really chill place in terms of all that good stuff.

but a lot depends on the people on your floor and what kinda security they have.

be careful assuming that because it's decriminalized in MA that the school itself doesn't have harsh penalties (i.e. suspension/expulsion) for smoking on campus. check with the student handbook before you get too excited about it... :)

i would love to know if anyone has been busted / gotten a "ticket" for possession in mass.

also what were the conditions...were you driving, just outside, at a concert???

    let's hear some stories.

I haven't looked in depth at MA's decriminalization but I'm sure public smoking is not covered. Smoking while driving (or high) is still a DUI.

i've never gotten in trouble for weed but thats because i've never gotten caught. but if i did get caught then i deffinetly get fucked seeing that the only thing the cops in my town have to do is bust kids partying and doing stupid shit.

I found that Cops in Mass. generaly and especaily in Boston were never that concerned about small amounts of weed, even before Decriminalization. It seems like the only time people got in trouble for Small amounts weed was if they were driving or acting like a knucklehead, this might not apply in small towns out in the 'burbs though. I went to UMass Amhearst in the mid 90s and there was tons(literaly) of herb. I'll just say that it isin't an accident that some of the great strains, like Chem Dawg and Diesal orignated in Western Mass.
