If not, it's a really fun hobby where you practice being aware that you are dreaming while you are, and possibly taking control of your dreams. I've done it about 3 times myself (I need more practice =3). Here's a few webbies to look at if you're interested: http://www.ld4all.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dreaming
lucid schmucid. i DO actively participate in shaping my dreams while i'm in them. i don't think of them as dreams while i'm there though. more like some kind of totaly real but different kind of a parallel universe. one that has a totaly real geography parallel in someways but not even close to identical in others, to the one we're awaike in. i even have favorite place to go in them and favorite transit routs and trains and things to get there. and favorite trails to hike and places where i walk and colleges where i sometimes take classess or just hang out at the library and eat at the cafeteria in the student union or, and well there's a whole bunch of other things. dreams are to me a number of different things sometimes at the same time sometimes seperately. among them is a kind of like psionic internet connection. like a mmo sim only without the hardware, another is like a learning experience and then sometimes like a just for fun movie only in total v.r. there are a lot things people say about this "lucid" stuff, that well, like a lot of other things people make a big deal about, that don't entirely parallel how i experience things. my point of that is that we have our own internal ways of perceiving, or, well depends on how indipendent we individualy are of our surrounding cultures too i suppose, or the cultures of other worlds some of us remember living in. and of course the main thing, how i can tell when i'm not in THIS universe, is that the laws of physics and how things work generaly work in different ways then they do here. in ways just as consistent with themselves. but not with how they work in this world we're awaike in now. =^^= .../\...
I have already tried lucid dreaming, and always forgot to take ccontrol of my dream when im in it. But if you eat a table spoon of nutmeg right before you go to sleep it increases the chance of having a lucid dream. I should try that
I lucid dream almost every night. It's amazing. I'm not as in control as some are, like I can't control spontaneous things that happen in my dreams. but i usually can control myself. The best thing to do is fly around earth and through the universe. Amazing.
See to me dreams are real, i ask myself daily "is my waking life fake, my dream life real?" Theres a great movie called A Waking Life , Im not sure who its by off the top of my head but its intense , really explains a lot, Very very very creative!!! I recommend this movie for anyone
I only seem to be randomly able to control my dreams. I try to get into a conscious habit of doing it, but it usually doesn't work when it's wanted. Usually, I run around in dreams and say to myself "This is real! If this were a dream, I could (insert silly activity here)!" Then I proceed to do it and find out, yeah, it's a dream, and from then on, I have control till the alarm clock goes off.
I found this forum last night and it got me really interest in trying it. So before i went to i had 2 teaspoons of nutmeg (couldn't stomach another 2) and i think it worked. Usually i ethier don't dream or i cannot remember what they were when i wake up. But last night i had very vivid dreams could that be because of the nutmeg. I wasn't sure because i couldnt really control the dream at least i don't think so. Also does any believe that dreams are signs and are something that you should pay attention too?
nutmeg is good, but it's recommended to drink milk along with it to coat the stomach - breathing the aroma of clary sage oil is a good idea as well. there are several types of dreams, symbolic, prophetic, etc. - knowing how to analyze your dreams can provide you with a wealth of insight and information - dreams do have significance
oooo drinking milk sounds pretty good cause water wasnt doing the trick. How much nutmeg do you suggest eating?
a couplea spoonfuls should do it - have to experiment with it, as each person's chemistry is different sweet dreams!
as i said, clary sage oil works well, so does the herb mugwort, which you can either stuff in a small pillow or drink a very small amount of it in a tea (a pinch is about all you'll need)
nutmeg consumed in large quantities is hallucinegenic. The reason I do believe you dreamt is because you were AWARE! , im not saying nutmeg doesnt work, im just saying that awareness is key!
had my first lucid dream last night-SO AWESOME!!! i shoulda done more cool stuff but i was trying to get laid and that didnt work out... lol
Ahh first post...Well I actually came here in search of some kind of kindred spirit (how lame of me to say that) who's experienced this. Well, I am often bothered by my lucid dreams. I had one the other night, and I didn't like it, consciously and sub. It was also a part of mini astral projection. I saw myself, and my face was against the pillow and it was moving back and forth because I was trying to wake myself up, and I saw my own struggle. A soley lucid dream occured that night when I kept saying to myself, as if in disbelief, "I'm lucid dreaming! Oh my god!" and then, of course, a sinister foe appeared and I knocked him out with a pillow. Bah.
I have been tryng to do this, and have been semi-successful. I had a few where I realized that I was dreaming, and got so excited that I woke up, and two that I was more successful, but they were a tad dis appointing. both times I was in a van and suddenly realized that I was dreaming. the first time I decided that since the mountains I was driving around weren't really there, I could drive right through them, so the rest of the dream I spent diriving through mountains like they weren't there. the second time I was in the passenger's seat and realized that I was dreaming, and floated out through the top of the car, and started flying around. both frustrated me because there was too much light and not enough detail, and there was no way to adjust either.
