Autumn has fallen upon Britain and I am now wearing jumpers in September. Could this winter be a coldest ever? I woke up early this morning, went outside and it felt like the middle of Winter. The squirrels are out in plenty, stuffing their pants with nuts and getting ready for hibernation. Perhaps I should collect my nuts or start building a lardar for winter. What will you do for winter preparation and have you been caught out by the sudden Autumn>?
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ... as much as i used to moan about snow back home i sort of miss it now. so if it's a "bad british winter" i'll be happy. i highly doubt any weather here could match a Western/Upstate NY winter so i'm not about to move to the Carribean yet. that being said however, i'm not going crazy bundling up in my winter coat or anything but on the coldest days recently i might be seen wearing long sleeves. .. not today though, twasn't cold enough. yesterday i would have worn long sleeves had i realized how chilly it was but i didnt' till i was outside and then couldn't be arsed to go back and change. i went down to the town centre and hubby and i were the only people in short sleeves and no jackets.
Ugh i was raking for 3 hours this morning for college it was horrible. Although as our teacher says, "There's no such thing as cold weather, just inappropriate clothing" pfft
Up until maybe two weeks ago (tops), I was still kinda holding out for a bit of Summer! - Pretty ridiculous I know So it's been a bit of a shame going into the cold again with no real warmth to speak of. If my memory serves correct, April was the was the best month as far as blue skies and sunshine went. But you've gotta make your peace with it I'm now looking forward to some Autumnal, leaf-changing, conkering action! And aye, let it snow!
Nuts...heuheu Oh God im drunked But yeah, its getting chillsome, i say! I love spotting the squirrels though, theyre lovely little critters looovely
In preparation for winter i put on a jumper and flicked on our heating switch Now toasting my toes avec me good friendo called Willy ahahaha willy
I love it! I went outside this morning in my jumper and a scarf and took the dog out for walkies! Tis my favourite time of year and hope my birthday will be cold so I can wer a scarf and gloves! YAY!
roffa .. a man i can relate to .. silly british people and their 'cold' weather i still remember when my hubby moved to NY to live with me and we had his mom visit I thought she was going to freeze and then shatter into bits ... i don't know why, it was only minus 27 outside
Yes, would've been nice to actually have a summer besides that warm spell in April, apart from that it was rain rain rain and didn't get much above 20 degrees the whole rest of the summer:uhoh2: But I'm resigned to it, autumn definitely has something special about it
yeah mate i was just thinkin this is gonna be the coldest winter ever from how chilly its been latley
Me too. I need my lounge radiator to be sorted out. But the repairs people say they won't come out for one radiator I actually have another radiator broke, which is in the hall. I tried bleeding the things. Still no luck. pipe work looks okey. I am confused. They say it could be a very cold winter. I like watching the squirrels in Greenwich park. I am yet to meet a squirrel with a nut allergy
well me and my hot water bottle made firm friends last year. i stopped short of giving it a name but it came on the bus, to work, to the pub - my own personal heating system! and last winter i had to fight with my inadequate coal fire lighting skills...i have since had real gas heating installed and have spread my payments out into equal amounts over the year on direct debit so shouldnt have to deal with horrific bills in winter either. yay!
I'm annoyed we never really had a summer. I remember about three hot days in Poland and that's it. I hate the cold, I hate autumn (not you autumn jewels) and I hate winter and I hate even more the fact that I'm now going to have what seems like two years of perpetual winter. It's like bloody Narnia....
That's the trouble with this country - everyone complains about the weather, nobody does anything about it.
