I plan on leaving when I'm 18 and owning a farm eventually and just living off the grid with my friends. And before that traveling around and finding good people. Anyonelse into that?
Not sure what become a complete hippie means, but I'm currently 22, I joined the military at 18. I learn a lot about life and people through joining the military... I also learned that the military life is not for me, Also that there are a lot of cruel and evil people, out in the world. That really good true people are pretty hard to come by, and when you find them you need to hold on to them. What ever you decide to do man, make sure you do it with all of your heart and commit to it, otherwise it's not worth it.
I know that i don't have to be a hippie hell, im one now. It's just I get go out into the world until im 18.
Safety tip when smoking with strangers beware of wet joints. Chances are if the joint is wet it has been dipped in PCP or Fromeldahide. PCP was originally used as a tranquiliser for large animals like horses, elephants, tigers etc. the problem was that it didn't allways work as a tranquilisor and the animals would get aggressive. In humans it can be a hallucinigen. I smoked some pot that was laced when I was about 18 and had some nasty auditory hallucinations that convinced me I was possesed. I almost hurt myself. I got out of it fine once the shit wore off but gave up weed for about 15 years. Fromeldahide is Embalming Fluid. The stuff they put in dead bodys so they won't decompose until after the funeral. I don't know what the high is like but I've heared that it makes people violent. If you want to know more about organic farming and learning how to do that type of thing check out: http://www.stone-soup-institute.org/ Full disclosure this is the school that my father runs in Maine for sustainable living. Good luck in your travels and stay safe. Peace Out, Rev J
Bull! It's not ur monetary wealth but ur state of mind. Everyone living has a future. (Sorry for the abject positivity here. It is uncharacteristic of me.)
Yea man. I'm gonna buy a farm with my paper route savings and live free on some land with some other kids... Real life sucks when you're 18.
Ah, dreams. I wanted the same things when I was young. I wish you the best of luck, may the real world treat you kindly.
Complete hippie? I do plan to live off the grid again. Gonna build an eco-friendly house off the grid, let my dad live there and smoke weed all day if he wants in return for keeping the place up while I work as a nurse. Also plan on building my own hookups for my travel trailer on my property. So, I'll be working in society. Just not totally being part of it.
Complete hippie being no part in society but i respect u being a nurse and helping people while still iving as a hippie. Right on Peace, Biscuit
Good luck with completeley dropping out. I hate to sound like a cynical asshole but you can join the homeless population in the bohemian section of any college town get ripped off by the rest of the homeless population and end up back in the suburbs. You have a nice dream but the fact of the matter is sometimes in order to fufill our dreams we have to compromise. I work 7 days a week but I enjoy my job. Unless you've got a trust fund to keep a roof over your head and support your lifestyle for a few years you'll get spit out quick. I've seen way too many burnt out teenagers on this scene sparechanging people on Telegraph. 15 year old drug casualties are just depressing. Eventually they fall in with some type of Urban Preditor who calls everybody brother and does more taking than giving. Usually they have some 15 year old runaway with them who they will pimp out in the name of "Free Love". Usually it's like "Come on baby blow this guy so we can get a ride out of here." Anytime you have free anything free food, free dope, free love you also get freeloaders. People that take more than their share, people who will cut in line infront of someone more needy etc. I'm not trying to piss on your dream but I believe that you should make an informed decision before chasing it. It can easily go one wrong move and you can end up face down in a ditch. Peace Out, Rev J
Tell me warmbiscuit, you want to own a farm and turn it into a commune, do you have any farming experience? Too many such communes failed because no one knew how to grow anything, and they ran out of food or money before they could figure it out.
Wake up and smell the roses. If you've got a roof over your head, a warm place to sleep and food in your belly-you ain't poor! Don't say NO, before you sit up and look around you.
All the precautionary things you wrote are quite true. And in hindsight I can attest to that. But as the saying goes, each kid will put their finger in the fan. I hope he goes out and tries even if it ends in abject failure - therein lies the experiences. I had summer experience as a kid in Mississippi where I got to do family farm work. IT WAS HARD ASS WORK! This was when all our tools were hand; axe, sling blade, hoe, rake and ploying by mule. Lemme see, when I dropped out there was the loose commune farm in Mississippi in 1971 that a bunch of us from New Orleans went in on. We didn't lose much invested money, just time and work before we realized it wasn't going to pan out. Then there was me and Jim going to buy a small finca in Costa Rica, maybe a couple hectare and live subsistence on. Probably the best thing that happened there was Jim had his visa pulled and we had a week to leave the country. About the most fun I had was in 1970, building a small cabin down in the woods on my Dad's 40 acre farm in Missisippi and using it as a retreat to get away from New Orleans. I had a cheap pickup truck and built it myself with pine poles, ruff cut boards and discarded windows I found. Tar paper sides and tin roof top about 11 x 16 feet. It was a spiritual trip staying there by myself and fun to bring a few trippers up from New Orleans. That's about the closest I got to Walden.
yeah u dont turn into a hippy just cause u have free sex and whip it outside hippy is like deep in your heart things like that
A real hippy is a beautiful site to behold. I've seen lots of them in California and the East coast. Real hippys have found their dharma and they glow. Hippy for most of us isa state of mind. A set of principles we try to uphold. Its very hard to life the true hippy life these days.
