Are "marijuana users" really "stupid"?

Did you buy the plaque they tried to sell you that claims you're a genius ... theyre a scam. Hate to tell you but your IQ is not 133.

 

It probably isnt 133, but i bet it is above average. i have a 3.8 GPA. My aunt took it and scored 97, which pretty much suits her i guess you could say. I agree with it not being 100% acurate, but i do think it is within a ballpark figure.

iq tests are ridiculous, you can't rate knowledge with a number... creativity is a part of knowledge you'll never be able to categorize for example, plus i believe every one has an endless amount of knowledge anyway. with every experience and passing moment we are perceiving and growing. but even with the vast amount of knowledge everyone engulfs through every passing moment theres still even more we'll never even dream of understanding. we are all in a sense moronic geniuses, some with and without common sense

Actual IQ tests that provide a 'ballpark' figure are hundreds of pages long. There goes that theory.

Just because someone smokes pot doesn't mean they're stupid. My step-dad smokes and he's the VP of a multi-billion dollar company. He's literally a master in Construction Managment and was offered a job teaching at WPI. There goes that myth.

 

i'd say about 90% of people in this world are stupid.. and the remaining 10% are not all stoners... so yea.. overall.. marijuana users are stupid for the fact that they fall in with the other 90% of people in this world that are stupid

As for IQ tests, they really are ridiculous.

Example - Kim Peek's IQ has been measured at around 70. He can't dress himself or take care of himself in any way. However, he memorized the encyclopedia by age 5 and has memorized over 11,000 books word for word. He can read a page that a normal person would read in 1-3 minutes in about 15 seconds.

Also, he has perfect pitch and perfect recall of music he heard only once or twice decades ago. You can ask him, "what is the highest note reached by the soprano in the third movement of ______" and even if he hasn't heard it in a decade he will tell you. We're talking like, Mozart level or beyond here.

How can you measure this kind of intelligence with a number? If he could hold it together long enough to play Jeopardy, he would make an absolute mockery out of people like Ken Jennings who have spent huge amounts of time over decades to learn all sorts of arcane facts. Yet, an IQ test says he's mentally retarded. Which he kind of is. Or is he?
