Mmm, but I have a very naive mind when it comes to race. It's still childlike and I don't see racial differences, just differences. My brain doesn't really understand race and is therefore unable to make any logical or racist assumptions on someone from a particular race. It just doesn't happen.
You are daft then. You have the mind to think of these thoughts as irrational. Best thing to do is not even let these emotions enter your mind. If you see them as stupid why have them in the first place? Life is better when you do this trust me.
I’m absolutely, positively, and unequivocally not a racist But when I speak out against racism I’m often labeled a racist by the offenders, because as a practiced observer, I can often recognize the subtleties of modern racism Hotwater
It's cause I have to go by their words.. I have no eyes... shhh, don't tell anyone, I'm going to the graveyard and stealing some corpses eyes, it's going to be hard not to eat them though... Do you think a race war ended the Dinos... That would be crazy...
Red's right on.Unfortunately, stereotypes oft times have basis in fact, however tenous, due I believe ,to the social structure in which we live.
Unfortunately I don't carefully consider every single thought I have. I also really have very little control over what enters or does not enter my mind. I generally don't act in a racist manner but for me to say that sometimes certain prejudices which have been ingrained into me don't bubble to the top every now and then would be a complete and utter lie.
i don't understand the question, really, but i'll try to answer. i have conditioning in me (sandbox experience). sometimes i react irrationally and have to deal with it after the fact. it's pretty painful. people fuck up. it hurts when someone you love fucks up. especially when, truly, they're not bad people. but i've yet to find someone who's as clean of that conditioning as i wish they were. i'm looking for a good example. i'm a follower to my core. i've yet to find a leader free of bigotry in one form or another. it makes me sad. that was responding to odon.
Yes. But I imagine the conflict has been with redyelruc for a while. Still having these feelings makes me think redyelruc is not going to change whatever anybody says. Reflection is good but ignorance is not always bliss. I see ignorance here.
i see it in you, as well. just sayin. you're mocking someone's honest personal struggle. i guess you'd think it's better to lie about it.
Let's all hold hands, come on my fellow humans, we shall overcome! Let's not go down the path our dino brothers went down, never forget...
I think that its difficult to avoid prejudices from rearing their ugly head in your subconscious but ultimately you can be mindful of this and I just think there is no excuse for outward racism. A person is a person.
Odon is by far the most mind-fucked person in these forums. He is right out of Orwell's 'Ministry of Truth'.
in some ways, my thoughts, whether unconscious or conscious are...same with other prejudices and such and no, i don't consider it terribly bad either
That happens to me too. You're probably very racially and ethnically cultured and conscious. But that doesn't mean you fit the definition of being labeled a racist because you pick up on social cues and disrespect.
