At last a replacement has been found for Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men, the hit comedy. Ashton Kutcher has been tapped to replace him but won't receive the big salary that Charlie did.

He was really successful on "That 70's Show".

I still say no Charlie, no show. It'll bomb after a couple seasons, the same way 'That 70s Show' did when they got rid of Topher Grace and replaced him with some unfunny shmuck.

He's also younger than Charlie, and might help attract a younger audience.

He may also be able to extend the life of the show, as it was going to be cancelled after another year.

But can he replace Charlie as the lecherous old man...?

I think Kutcher plays dumb real well, but can he play smart like Charlie and be believable?

He has the cockiness, but what a strange (and terrible) choice.

I was never a big fan of the show, it was very hit and miss (though I definitely appreciated the hits); and it was going downhill anyway. Too bad it's dying such a long and nasty death.

Was Topher Grace's fault as he was working on a movie, I believe that terrible Spider-man 3.

There's no way Kutcher could play some rich old drunk relative of the younger brother. I don't know what kind of story they'd write in for him though.

Also, I don't think Charlie actually played that role. I think he just drank then showed up to be himself for a few hours.

maybe if they made Ashton's character a stoner cousin that moves in because Charlie dies or something? He'd make an awful Charlie Sheen. Only because in the show, Sheen's part was exactly how he is in real life...

I still think the whole thing is ridiculous... the guy got fired for being the person they paid him to act like, claiming some sort of moral stance on it...

    its just fucked up...

The guy got fired for insulting his boss; it's petty, it's stupid; but Chuck Lorre isn't done ruining his own creation just yet.

Yes it is. Although we don't know exactly what went on, it's fucked up that they disagreed with Charlie's lifestyle, which more or less seemed to resemble a script from the damn show.

The fact that the man has two girlfriends has become the focal point of attention (largely negative). I don't understand why that's a bad thing.

Well, I think he lost one of them... but I would say the 'its a bad thing' comes from jealousy... lol

It almost does seem like this back-handed religious shame mortality that society puts on itself. Western society in general is so used to the idea of one man per one woman, yet when a man comes along who has two women, he's largely made to feel sexually alienated and perverted, despite the fact that people are grossly interested.

He is awesome. Seems like somewhat of a shitty father, but that's no one elses business.

Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen?

    That qualifies as NEWS????????

What is happening in this world when revolutionary, radical hippies who frequent web sites promoting an a-political and "hip" lifestyle consider this news worthy of discussing?????????

My faith in hippies is quickly waning.:(

This isn't exclusively a "hippie" website my friend. There are a lot of different people here with a lot of different opinions. That's what makes it so eclectic.

Compared to Charlie Sheen Ashton is a punk. I've seen his 'Punked' show. I'm not impressed.

The Producers of Two and a Half Men might think Ashton can pull it off but I don't see it.
