Assange granted asylum by Ecuador!

Julian Assange has just been granted political asylum by Ecuador! The British government has threatened to storm the Ecuadorian embassy to capture him, and the Ecuadorian ambassador responded by saying that Ecudaor is not a British colony!

It's great that the Ecuadorians have the guts to stand up to the big powers-I hope he's able to leave the UK safely

Apparently the Brits want to really play hardball on this. There was an announcement today that the british government might revoke the diplomatic status of the embassy, then grab Assange and extradite his ass to Sweden.

 

It's going to be near impossible to get him out of the country...

Yea, it'll be interesting to see how this turns out-he may have to end up living in the embassy for a long time
