I tried it once but there was too much going on in my mind. So it wasn't effective. Although I might give it a try again sometime soon. I'm quite surprised at how many sites there are about it :)

Time is not linear like our brains filter it to be.

I have seen the future only on a few occasions and only for a few certain reasons and it's weird when these things happen in my life I think

    oh wow, I've been here.

The past can change too with time.

There are many techniques to induce OBE
and when you are in the other realms
time can be a totally different concept.

    Have fun!

Well first of all you need to have a solid enough understanding about the nature of reality at large, what beings you are likely to encounter when time traveling, what it is like when you leave your body. Otherwise you have no way of knowing if the experience is legitimate, because the astral is a very dirty place and many entities might try to trick you, create a fake experience, and just have fun at your expense. Many new-age-ers who claim to have psychic abilities are being duped, because they are not self-realized and have no way of discerning true from false. This is one way how 'supernatural' (for lack of better term) abilities are a distraction away from self-realization if focused on overly. In summary, it is pointless to try and time travel through meditation if you are not sufficiently self-realized, so I wholely encourage you to pursue self-realization. I could say that it is outright dangerous to attempt it if you are still in ignorance, but mang, that's a bit fluffy for my tastes. Anyways, it's not easy to find good information sources out there about spirituality, there's lots of rubbish. E-mail me if you would like some good places to look.

PS - I've done plenty of crazy astral stuff so I'm not just fearmongering, it's actually a dirty place.

Here's a book you might want to take a look at: The Yoga of Time Travel by Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D. He's a physicist who's arguing that time travel is possible for yoga (and meditation too). A little technical for my tastes, but you might enjoy it.

Well, I am not sure how much to say about this but i have had expereinces in this area. Through mediation i have left my body and my astral self has left residue on my window as physical proof. It is a concept of mind...where your consciousness is that is where you are and those who can accept two realities or more at a time can bi-locate or be in two places at once...Precognition is an after effect of this...i have seen the future both in awake state and in dream state...One meditation is to increase the vibration rate of your body by seeing a white ball above your fore head about 6 inches and move it visually with your mind to your feet and back up again in a slowly increasing fashion...this increase the energy field within you..this meditation speeds up your overall vibration rate...There are mantras and sutras for mediation that lead to obe's...Here is some info on the one voice chord...
    "The One Voice Chord"

    Tibetan and Mongolian chanting

Om Mani Padme Hum (Six Syllable Mantra/Prayer)

    OM Mani Padme Hum Hri

Reciting in Honor of Tara.-the "Om Tara Tutare Ture Soha" Mantra

Tara is the most praised female Buddha in Tibetan Buddhist practices because she protects us from dangers, difficulties and all sorts of obstacles. Tara's presence can be swiftly felt when using her mantra.

    What is throat singing

In the western world Throat singing is also called overtone singing, harmonic singing, or harmonic chant. The most known Throat singing is the Tibetan and Mongolian chanting but also many other regions in the World are practicing a similar type of singing, that manipulates the harmonics resonance's created as air travels through the human vocal folds and out the lips.

The harmonic frequencies created by the human vocal apparatus are harnessed in throat singing to select overtones by tuning the resonance in the mouth. The result of tuning allows the singer to create more than one pitch at the same time, with the capability of creating six pitches at once. Generally the sounds created by throat singing are low droning hums and high pitched flutelike melodies

The Tibetan Buddhist path to self-realization involves the understanding of the Three Mysteries. These are the Mysteries of Body, Speech and Mind, whose experience has been condensed into the mantric formula OM-AH-HUM. Speech is the interconnector between the Mind and the Body. Speech is the understanding of sound as the creative force and incorporates the knowledge of using mantra as a sacred tool for summoning up the appearance of gods and the forces of the universe. Through the creation of several tones at the same time, the 'One Voice Chord' may be a further condensation of the Three Mysteries into an expression of Body, Speech and Mind as pure tone.

As earlier stated by Western practician such as Steve Sklar, "the actual technique simply involves the use of the ventricular folds in addition to the vocal folds, and often a lowering of the larynx/trachea, enhancing the deep sound by lengthening the air column of the vocal system."

However, to obtain the sound a "harmonic transmission" is needed. The student have to be in directly vibratory presence of an expert in order to transfer the power of sound.
The way the Tibetan monks learned to create this voice was by being in the presence of other monks, who already had the voice.
As Steve Sklar points out, it is not a condition of creating the sound, that one is a Buddhist or mastering deep meditation. Some have the ability, some have not in spite of being a life long Buddhist monk.
I have, however, come across other statements from scholars, who claimes that "only those who have reached a certain stage in this meditation can become open enough to be vessels of this sound." Do not take such type of statements too literally. Find someone who can perform the chord and try.

    MANTRAS

'Mantra' is a Sanskrit word meaning 'the thought that liberates and protects'. Mantras are sounds or words which when recited have the ability of changing the consciousness of the reciter. In the Hindu tradition, there are literally thousands of mantras, each with a different purpose and intention. Some mantras are designed to unite the reciter with a particular deity or energy form. Other mantras are designed to empower the reciter with specific 'siddhas' or powers. Still other mantras are utilized to resonate and activate the chakras of the reciter.

    CHAKRAS

Chakras are energy centres located along the centre of the body. Clairvoyants and others with the ability of seeing these subtle energy centres are able to view them as vortices of shifting colors, sounds and densities. Indeed, the meaning of chakra (a Sanskrit word) is 'wheel', and they are seen as spinning wheels of energy. Knowledge of chakras is by no means limited to Eastern traditions, though it is from the Hindu and Tibetan systems that the greatest information about chakras has come. Many esoteric and occult traditions talk of energy centres along the body and it seems that anyone with real sensitivity can sense.

i have alot more to say on this...but this is all ready probably too much...
    peace and love
