Mamma was cruising sites looking for pictures of this years Gathering.
She came upon the Myspace site "Mountainmudtruck" looked at a few pictures that were accompanied by the song "Paint it Black".

Our security system went TOTALLY bugshit. All the bells and whistles went off. We received no damage only because we have multi-layered security. The best money can buy.

Unless you have top notch security...AVOID THIS SITE!!!!!

And Science, I know this is your site. FIX YOUR SITE!!!! You may be fucking over lots of innocent folks.

Lol. I like that. "multi layered security system" :D

Kind of like the word premium. "I have a premium security system"

Those are awesome phrases. Now I know why I am weird. I like to say things that sound funny to me.

Yea, words can be funny. I chose multi-layered because it is. Premium sounds a little too hoity-toidy to me.
After many years of bs from weak security (like Norton) I went for the big time and have had no problems, even on Explorer. It's worth every penny.
And no, I'm not willing to tell anyone what systems I use. Nothing is undefeatable when known.

I've wanted a Mac for a long time but mamma like her H.P.s and I'm smart enough to keep her happy!

Can't really give you a definite price as security came with the unit and then other AV was added on top of that, hence "multi-layered." Wasn't cheap. Shit, the HP laptop alone was over a grand.

I could have asked my father to build one (he's an 80 yr. old computer geek)
but he's usually building his newest super computer so I hate to ask.

Yea, updating is a daily habit. It IS a good thing I'm protected. The virus on the "mountainmudtruck" site was trying to break into the memory files. Persistant, too!!! It actually tried multi avenues.
I just hope others take my warning seriously.

How does your system react to other MySpace sites, Zen? There's always a bunch of junk that tries to fly into our pc from myspace in general.

First time I've had any problem with Myspace. Lots of crap bounces off the firewall, usually pop-ups, but nothing as strong as this was...by far.

I'm not blaming Science. He may be unaware this is coming through his site, but he's told nearly everyone he meets at Gatherings to check his site out. He also alienated a number of people this year. Maybe somebody is pissed enough to try and ruin his site. Could be serious trouble for others.

Hence, the reason they call it "myspace".

If it were for you, they'd have called it "yourspace", right?

It makes it a lot easier to find, and keep in touch with, local and regional bands.

I'm not on myspace. Myspace is owned now by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. It's a personal data tracking and collection apparatus, the government is all over that shit as well as private corporations, cataloguing peoples personal information, habits, etc....yeah i'm all set with it, i'm pretty computer savvy myself and I have NEVER had a myspace page.

I don't nor will ever have a Myspace account. I only go there when Rainbow pics are posted. That's why I went to the site with the nasty virus. Funny thing...this dude's first rodeo was W.Va. but has posted pictures from 90s Gatherings...???? No biggie but there's no "printed with permission" of the original photographers.

I like MySpace because it's put me back in touch with a lot of folks that I'd lost track of. JuJu likes MySpace because he can share his music with folks everywhere. He's getting radio play in the UK because of his MySpace page.
