I don't hate her or her music. I think she has a nice voice, her music's well-produced, and the lyrics are good.

She brought the haterism on herself. Her interviews...the way she acts...the way she talks. In one interview she'd say how punk rock she was and in the next get pissy about the interviewer calling her punk. It's stupidity. She acts like she's above the world. Her music is poorly written. All the lyrics sound the same. Her voice is like a boy in puberty.
I just have to say 1 phrase... How dare you? How dare Avril to do a cover a song like Dylan's "Knocking On Heaven's Door"? That was a song about near-death experiences, and she probably never had a near-death experience!!!! And her music is too pop for punk.

I don't often listen to the radio, so I don't hear this kind of garbage much, but if I do, I change the station right away.
I think she has talent and potential and given her present age and what she has done as far as writing, I think she is someone to watch. I do think she will grow into her writing.
She's just a little pop singer, not my kind of music so I just ignore her, no need to get upset about it....
Avril was lucky to get noticed by a music biz big shot, so she went from "lost and clueless" to "punk princess" in a matter of months. Her cuteness and attitude have made her the darling of her record label. Her latest CD has a couple of songs that are pretty good formula "hit" numbers, but there are issues. "Together" is pretty well put together, but her singing on this track messes the thing up because she tries to sound like she's spitting on her chauffeur. And so on and so on.... I was irritated when I learned that her record label is paying radio stations for large chunks of late-night ad time, but instead of ads the label is having the stations simply play Avril's "Dont' Tell Me" over and over so that the song stays up in the charts. Is this payola? You bet it is, and it sucks......
Here are my issues with Avril Lavine I. She claims to be a punk rocker 1) She sings pop. Not pop rock, not pop punk, but pop 2) Shes signed with a big-wig record label A) Subsequnetly this record company writes all her songs and dresses her 3) She has no pollitical stands but I've seen her donning the Anarchists sigul. Does she even know what it means? Doubtful. II. She doesnt write her own music. 1) Her songs are not even her own which destroys any kind of artistic integrity formerly possible. 2) She cant read music To quote the evil bitch "I don't write "Oh baby baby songs. I'm a skater punk. [I've never learned how to play music] because I don't wat to get distracted by the proper way to play. I go with what feels right." See. She claims to be something shes not. For one a skater punk is basiclly a pop punk, and shes not even that.
I have both of her albums, and I think that she's really talented. Punk? Pop? Who gives a f**k! Does she sound good? I think so, and that's all I need to know.
I agree. she also spawned this new breed of bitches that dress punkish and listen to this emo shit. The biggest reason i hate her is becouse of every little high school girl that now thinks that they are punks and that their pop/punk guitarist boyfriends are guitar gods cause they just learned the latest blink 182 song. avril lavigne is just one of those anoying pop music money makers that makes high school and starting a band much more anoying then it should be.
At my high school, we wear uniforms. But, there are still guys who come in with their pants halfway down the crack of their ass, with spikey highlights in their hair, and the girls wear black eye shadow. What does that prove? It proves, that kind of music is nothing but destructive.
