Tonight I made the best pasta I've ever made. It was really simple to make, I just boiled the penne for a bit, took them out before they were al dente. In a skillet I sauteed asparagus (that I had previously cut in like 2 inches pieces) in some butter for a few minutes, then added some diced roasted red peppers and garlic, then I added some vegetarian broth, when it was boiling I added the penne with some thyme, a LOT of parmesan cheese and a little more butter, black pepper, basil and oregano. I need to get myself a wok or something, all those things in my skillet were a little too much, it was so difficult to stir it without food flying out lol, but it all turned out really good. I was so happy because John LOVED it and it was really super yummy , so I had to come here and tell everyone. It's not everyday that I cook something delicious
that's awesome while staying at a hostel we created a thing called hotdog pasta, it was delicious but strange and not as gourmet as yours sounds i totally want pasta now
i made some really good spaghetti last night, but it was very meaty so you wouldnt like it. i love pasta! also, woks are freaking amazing.
Mmm...we have some baked spaghetti/egg noodles (I ran out of egg noodles, so I had to do half-half, lol) in the fridge from the other night, I think I might warm that up for my dinner. Or ramen with sour cream. Yeaaaah.
that is one of my favorites, that it almost exactly how i do it, minus the asparagus.... sounds freaking delicious, my mouth is watering. tonight i made lemon orzo soup with tomatoes, it was quite tasty and really easy to make.
Autentique that sounds damn good, i probably woulda added some garlic but that's just me i love that stuff. i need a wok also, i was just talking about that the other day because u can really cook anything in one of those.
i add garlic to basically everything, to me it is as essentially as salt and peppah and as far as woks go, i have 2 big (12 inch?) wok frying pan things i think i got at target, i will steam veggies or bake rice in one and use the other to sautee, best investments i have ever made f'reals.
I want one! I love pasta too, I even had some last night. I wanted to make this yesterday, but I didnt have all the ingredients and John wasnt hungry, so I just made some whatever I can find in the fridge pasta. It ended up being some aglio e olio, with some sauteed spinach and parmesan cheese.
I'm telling you, we need to unite forces. How do you make your soup? Maybe I can make it in the crockpot.
i don't know what that is i want a new wok. i have one, but i dont like it. i dont think its a proper wok. it doesnt have a stand, instead its flat on the bottom, so it works pretty much like a normal pan, but with large flared sides. it doesnt heat up the same way because of this. also, its nonstick, and i fucking hate nonstick cookware. its fine so long as you are super careful with it, but it always ends up getting scratched eventually, one way or another. plus you can't season a nonstick wok.
I'm gonna check out Amazon to see if I can find a not so expensive one. We're saving money to get a crib and baby things. The baby wont be using the wok for now But I love woks, my mom had a really big one too and that's the only thing I ever used on the rare occasions that I cooked something at home.
Stick with real noodles, lol. I only eat ramen because I'm poor and it's 20 cents a package. I imagine it has the same nutritional content as a bag of sand.
it is simple - just boil veggie broth and add the orzo. while the orzo cooks, you whip two egg whites till they make peaks and then stir in a whole lemon's worth of juice and the yolks of the eggs. then you slowly ladle some of the soup into the egg mixture so you don't shock the eggs.... then add the mixture and the tomatoes and maybe some spinach... add salt and pepper and serve. it's pretty good. i'm extra excited to try this baked orzo recipe, though.... it is extra cheesy
Aglio and olio it's garlic and oil in Italian. Olive oil in this case. What do you mean you cant season a nonstick wok? But yeah I always end up scratching the nonstick things too.
here is one from target http://www.target.com/IMUSA-Nonstic...-7382435?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k:wok&page=1 that is essentially what i have, nothing ever sticks to it if you just oil it a bit, i love it. you could probably even use the wok to beat your baby!
