Is it a good idea to just drink ayahausca, in the same way you'd take some LSD or mushrooms, as in just at your friends apartment? Or just go out to a random area in the forest and drink it? Or is it ideal to wait till you actually encounter a shaman or ayahausca tribe, or someone previously experienced with it, which can put together an adequate ritual grounds and everything? I'm in portland oregon and I hear that there is sects of santo daime that run rituals here. I've always said to myself that I'd simply wait till they ran into me in order to participate in an ayahausca ritual. But the availability of supplies is making me now wonder if perhaps I should just give it a go.
I think it would be very wonderful to be in ceremony with the santo daime.. I would love to hear/see their icaros
Just dont run off into the forest with no return! I dont think It is worth going and finding the santo diame, other than to find people who will take care of you while tripping. But it is a religion of its own, and you might not want to hear them telling you their beliefs while in the depths of ayahuasca
I think they're smart enough to shut up and sing....but I'm not entirely certain. I would love to see for myself, someday.
man that sounds so cool... if its your first time or if you arent really comfortable with the experiance id go with a familiar place, though if your friends apartment is messy that kinda weirds me out while im trippin... the whole room just doesnt look right. i definately wouldnt wait for the tribe atmosphere but take the oppurtunity if it comes along. as for going into the woods id bring a trip sitter. or bring a friend (that is also tripping, according to some of Tim Leary's writings the best trip sitter is one on a lower dose of the drug)
