What if you hurt someone emotionally without realizing it, would that still be bad karma?

I Don't Think So, From I Am Led To Believe, Bad Karma Comes As The Result Of

Deliberate Evil And Unkind Acts To Another Person...:).

It is a myth that you can hurt someone emotionally. We are never upset by facts by by interpretations of fact.

Try instant karma, it's a better breakfast cereal.

My Karma ran over my dogma. From what I've known intention is a major factor in karma. But to truly translate karma into western terms "For every action there is a reaction." But all of these actions and reactions have a tendency to amplify or cushion each other. So you may have hurt somebodies feelings unintentionally so they will have hurt feelings and not talk to you for a while. BFD. Talk to them when they are ready to talk about it and you can hopefully clear it up. If not take it as a lesson to be mindful and move along.

to be classified as karma it has to be something that you have consiously chosen...it MUST be a choice of good or evil that you then suffer the consequences....so spill your guts.what did you do and we will see lol.?:mickey:

    Karma is mostly intention.

But not entirely, because that would mean you could wander around in ignorance causing havoc all around you and disclaiming responsibility because you didn't know the consequences. And that, too, would be bad karma - the intention of willful ignorance.

So the bad karma in the case you described would be minor, because you didn't intend harm, but there would still be some because you acted unskillfully.

As a man of god with a good deal of experience in Karma and what it means form a non western perspective you are absolved. The chain of karma in this situation is as follows:
Link 1) This other person started to get into you.
Link 2) You told him you were uncomfortable.
    Conclusion (?) He got pissed.

Cause and effect. Good and bad are value judgments that prevent us from seeing things clearly. Form my position in the cheap seats you did hurt somebody. We all do once in a while. How you deal with it from here is up to you. You're still just a kid it's probably happened a million times in your life up to this point and probably will a million more times. Self-flagellation is not the way to go in this situation.
