Now i have smoked weed for some time now, but not freaquently. At some point i read on the net about the effects of THC and that it makes your heart and whole metabolism work faster. And you know...the next time i got high i couldn't stop listening to my heartbeats and got really nervous and began emagining pains in my heart and couldn't stop doing that, so i froze or something like that. Like i sat more or less still for an houror so. Now that was a bad trip and i have had a few more since then. So what i am asking is can THC really cause heart problems and how to stop listening to one's heartbeats. Thankee.
I've had that before too. It feels horrible, but the only thing i can say about that is try to relax and breathe, remind yourself that weed is something to be enjoyed and concetrate on your breathing, try to be calm and relaxed... Sure it does accelerate your system a bit, especially your heart rate but i dont think it can actually cause heart problems, at least i hope it doesnt. when you're stoned you're so aware of things that you dont notice whenyou're "sober", your heartbeat is always there, and if you pay enough attention when you're about to fall sleep, you can feel this slight beat, that when you're stoned increases and while you're more aware of it, you think your heart might explode!!! dont worry, just relax and you'll be ok.
Thanks for the encouragement, zeppelina. The next time i do it(next week) i'll try and keep it in mind...or not.
Just chill with it. I have read that as you get older, and you continue to smoke, the chance of having a heart attack does increase a lot. You seem young though, I wouldnt worry about it.
Yeah deffinelty had that before, thought my heart was gonna explode from goin so fast. but ive come to terms with it an now if i feel the same thing i just know its because of the weed. Just remember that weed makes you alot more sensative so u can feel things that u wouldnt normally wen sober, such as you heart beating
It does speed up your heart beat about 20 B.Ps on average, but the more you focus on the beats, the faster your heart will beat because of the subsequent paranoia associated afterward, which, while you're high, is completely actived manually by you, not involuntarily as it would be by certain endorphine releases in the parasympathetic nervous system, simply because Marijuana is an entirely sensory experience, if you know what I mean by all this. Basically this means that you control the realease of this neurotransmission chemical during this type of sensory experience, and the lesson is, don't allow yourself to get paranoid, or scared, or you'll worsen your experience. If you want to get dizzy, you can make yourself dizzy while high. If you want to get sick with paranoia while high, you can easily make that happen if you don't relax. I have to admit, I thought you were talking about a bad acid trip. lol Bad acid trips are much worse, but yet much cooler an experience in a strange way. You don't have to ever have a bad high. You can control your mind yourself and your chemical releases, or I guess more broadly, the situations or feelings you allow yourself to have, in order to release that chemical.
Thanks everyone. The self control is a tricky thing: i seem to be feeling best when i have none, rather than when i have some. At least i have done some more research and know now that the risks of death by cannabis is minute. Really, u've been a lot of help.
