Hello, This is my first post to this forum, but I have been reading a lot of your post and threads for a while. I work for a small real estate agency, there are only four of us, and we spend a lot of time preparing ads, open houses, showings and closings. So when we are doing the behind the scenes business and no clients are in our office we tend to end up working in our bare feet, I have noticed that when we are comfortable we are more productive. bfgal
I couldn't agree more. In my job, I find that I also have a much more positive and productive work ethic from slipping out of my flip flops. I'm lucky enough to work in an environment where this isn't seen as unusual, although most others in my office only go barefoot when the weather is nicer. But I do think that having one less "constraint" on ourselves leads us to be better employees. Every employer should allow people the freedom to work without shoes, in my opinion.
Since I work outside, and am self-employed, my answer is easy! Except that it is a long winter here, I'm quite bare and free more than half the year. Already I'm getting them out some, although any idea of spring is still distant, and there will be much cold and still some snow to deal with.
I work for Sun Microsystems in a call center during the weekend overnight hours. This enables me to be barefoot during almost my entire shift. My co-workers don't mind because most of them are running around in their socks.
