Has anyone ever seen Battle Royale? It's an intense Japanese film about the citizens protesting during the turn of the century with many of the children opting out of school. Once everything is under control again, to insure it wouldn't happen again, random freshmen classes are abducted and put on this island to battle it out until there is only one left. They made a 2nd one a couple of years ago but I haven't been able to find it with English subtitles yet.

The first was ok, pretty good. Really cool idea but it somehow didn't thrill me as much as it could have done... Definetely worth watching though. Good 'n' gory :)

I wouldn't bother with the second one to be honest, it was rubbish.

Im actually reading the book right now. Its almost to grotesque to watch. Kids stabbing each other in the neck with spoons is not really my kind of book. But an interesting critique nonetheless.
