I love the Beatles ... umm ... but what does "song of the moment" mean? Do you mean a favorite song? Or one that I'm listening to right now?
Well, one of my alltime favorite Beatle songs is one that you don't hear too much about ... "Things We Said Today". ... someday, when we're dreaming, deep in love and not a lot to say ... then we will remember things we said today. A wonderful lyric ... lots of wistful thoughts about the loss of love, and the melody is dark and brooding. A great song.
Mr. Moonlight - John Lennon Don't know if this qualifies as a solo, since there are harmonies, but John sings the solo parts, including the intro. This song appeared on "Beatles for Sale" in the U.K., and on "Beatles '65" in the U.S. The Hollies allegedly did a cover of this song simultaneously.
If Mr. Moonlight is solo John Lennon then my next choice, And I Love Her, is solo Paul McCartney. And he actually wrote that one.
Dunno. I have bought so many Beatle CD's over the years, then gave them away or loaned them and never got them back. My kids even took some of them. So my Beatle collection right now is down to a minimum. When I was in high school, the boy next door was an even bigger Beatle fan than I was. I remember sitting in his room listening to Beatles and making out with him. Ah, memories ...
