i've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now, and i've decided for sure what i want just recently. its going to be a peace dove on my lower back. just the outline in black, very simply and beautiful. but a thought just occured to me. i've heard people say that it can strech if you gain too much wait, especially in a place that holds so much fat. but what about the other way around? i'm actively dieting and working out in an attempt to shed about 30 or so pounds. would that effect the tat somehow?
I sure hope not or I am screwed because I have been losing weight. I think the problem occurs more when the skin is stretched out (stretch marks, disfigurement of tattoo). Sorry this isn't more help. I am an inked person but not an expert and haven't done a drastic weight loss/gain and have been about he same size all my adult life
yeah, i imagine it wouldn't do anything. i wont be losing it quick enough i dont think. it seems to me the problem with the change in it would happen when the skin didn't have time to adjust itself, ya know?
Depends on the elasticity of your skin...if you're young, you shouldn't have too much of a problem...unless you plan on loosing too much weight...something large and intricate might look like a big blob if the skin is tighter and smaller... If you're older, the skin will be loose if you lose weight...so you'll have many more problems.
