yeah it's cool in a way because you get all this free time :sifone: but it really fuckin sucks. i've applied to SO many places.. and nothing's come through for me. can anyone relate?
well, if you're focusing your time and energy on applying to chain stores, then i'd suggest not doing that anymore. go to a local place, and when you turn in the application ask to speak with the manager. tell him/her that you're very interested in working here blahblahblahblah and be sincere about it. that's how i got my job
When I get back to school.. I'm probably gonna be unemployed. Well, I'll have a work/study job, but that's not gonna be enugh money to pay my bills and other shit like that, so I am going to try to find another job. I'm sure it's gonna be hard.. I've already tried. I wish you luck!
oh god I'm so sick of free time. I'm so bored and so broke. I'd love to be a corporate bitch right now
ditto. i mean really.. all i'm doing these days is blazin, laying in the sun and the shade, listening to tunes, and playing my djembe. haha it's a beautiful thing but i'm broker than broke and feeling pretty unproductive.
I do want to get a new job though.... I mean... It's been almost a year since I got fired from Mcd's. I feel like Ricky.... Sellin' dope and eatin' raviolli 3 times a day. Oh well, at least I don't live in a car.
free time sucks, get a job before it gets boring. i work part time and go to summer school, but i only ever get shifts at night, and my class is at night too. so i have like 12 hours a day when all my friends and family are at school or work or something. iv seen like all the episodes of my favourite tv shows so many times that they are unbearable, and practically ran out of the internet. but i just came back to the forums today so maybe il be able to use this as a timesink
It's real hard to find jobs now-you need to differentiate yourself-make yourself stand out. When you fill out the app ask if the manager is in-try to give him the applications-talk to him about the business-relate a story about yourself and the business "god I like the food here-I come here all the time"-say something-get the manager to remember you more than just the applications Call back or better yet stop back a day or 2 later-hey I dropped off an app-just checking in-let him know that you are really looking for a job-by stopping back it makes you stand out I had a friend he would go into a place and find out who the manager was-he would try to order something when the manager was working-talk to him just about stuff with the food or the restaurant. He'd stop by the next day and do the same thing. Remembering his name-"hey Dave how's it going-I'm back for another excellent milkshake"... talk him up so he remembers you. Stop back again later and then apply for a job-hey are you guys looking? Do you know anyone else who is. If he does when you go there mention him. On more thing-have a personal email address and a work email address. No one is going to hire stoner4life@gmail.com . Plus it's real easy to do some searching and find all sorts of things once you have someone's email address. Have one for personal stuff and one for professional stuff.
the only thing missing is fellow unemployed, broke stoner friends. all my buds are workin or doing summer classes or something.. haha :cheers2: to being cliches
