Who do ya'll think is the best jam keyboardist/pianist? Of course I can't choose one, but I think i have to go with Page, Kyle Hollingswoth (SCI), the dude from ALO and the dude from Particle.

Technically I think between page and kyle it could go either way but im a big fan of kyle. His solo cd never odd or even is prety good too. Jordan Willkow from family groove company is great and I also love Joel Cummins from Umphreys - Brent Mydland too.

Page McConnel has done stuff to me no man on the keys could ever achieve again.....but Steve from Particle is very sick, i don't think he is as diverse of a player as Page though. Steve plays a very synthy, dance style key....page is all of the board....he is a master of the piano, but rocks the organ, keyboards, synths...everything with keys...in a hundred different styles...Phish, Vida Blue, then Vida Blue with Spam All-Stars was an amazing experimental CD. But steve shows his diversity outside of Particle like when he plays withs Phil and Friends, he was amazing! i can't choose, because Robert Walter is a crazy player to. Bernie Worrel is fucking brilliant, Kyle from Cheese is awesome, its impossible to say.....

wtf? You guys ever listen to Soulive? You know the bassist is just the keyboardist's left hand right? I have to say him ( neal evans) , page, guy from sci, and john medeski are the best keyboardists in the "jam scene." Can't believe no one mentioned medeski or neal evans, that kind of makes me want to cry.

Oh and particle makes me want to vomit. All over my bare feet at a festival. But I walk away before it happens. Saves myself from the smell and whatnot.

IDK I can't get into trance music, and that's all it seemed like when I caught them at bonnaroo last year. I like to move around and shit, but not to that type of music... I left before the murder of sly stone songs, which would have had me thoroughly pisst. I might give them another try someday, I always do with bands that get a lot of good reviews that I don't like at first. There was a time when I didn't like the dead that much.

Medski bores me personally. Yes he and the rest of MMW are immensely talented, but I can only listen to them every once in a while.

Ther keyboardest who has impressed me the most recently is Todd Stoops from RAQ

Yes finally someone else says medeski lol.. dude check out neal evans of soulive try to watch a video of him if you can. I like his style more than I like medeski's, although I think medeski has been playing 20 years longer than neal or maybe not that much but a bit longer. Either way, neal plays blazing basslines pretty fast and groovy with his left hand while he does chords and solos with his right, on a hammond and clav, sometimes synth.

Id really have to say Page because he incompinied Orchestrated piano and mixed it with jazz and everything else the keys have to offer....

I cant be happier than when I am listening to Page play ....like the outtro for the squirming coil....ahhhhhhh i feel so happy

Medeski is the best Jazz pianist out......point blank.....hes a musical genious

those are my two favorite pianist of all

And Allman ....damn i cant remember his name but the piano player from allmans brothers band not .....hes a really good blues southern rock player

I'd say DeFrancesco is a bit above medeski on the organ... guy does clinics where he plays trumpet while playing the hammond. Also, herbie hancock is up there too. But these guys are more jazz and mmw is like jazz/funk/jamband idk, different styles that's all.

i think you forgot a word dude, but gregg is the brother who plays keys, duane was the slide gee tarist.
And yes I have to agree that page's playing makes me smile a lot. Especially on the piano part on yem.
Dude, where else you hitting besides roo? I might not be able to go I just found out due to lack of ride but the kid i was gonna hitch with is going to waka instead... I wanna go to both but I don't know if there's anything going oin in between.
