What is everyone's opinion on the best type of music to listen to while trippin? When i did it, i really went for the folkie-type music (Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, etc.) I don't know, it just took me to a really happy place in my mind.

I think most all music that you listen to on acid will be alot better then when sober of course. If i had to pick my favorite type of music it would be that trippy ass synthesizer music. That kicks ass on acid! My favorite song on acid is Acid 8000 by fatboy slim.

agreed. nothing quite like electronic music, especially analog.

anything by Thomas Fehlmann (of The Orb), Boards of Canada, casino vs. japan, nabokazu takemura

i love pink floyd.. listening to entire pink floyd albums is awesome. Its like every one tells a story. I think the best album in the world is The Wall. but also techno synth music is tight and so is jimi hendrix! anything that is either really chill and inspiring or energizing and inspireing.

I think it entirely depends on what you listen to in life. Like last time me and my mates were tripping one of em, Jimmy boy, he like suggested we listened to some proper mellowed out, dreamy techno. But then Jack, the other dude tripping, but on some real hard trance/happy hardcore/dance etc. on. And the entire while I really wanted to listen to some hardcore psychobilly punk tunes.

So yeah, I think it's whatever really floats your boat. Whatever you listen to though will seem pretty trippy. Like you can feel the sound waves, you can picture how they move. I can anyway.

I think it was Ribot playing guitar parts on that album, either way that is one of the best tripping albums ever.

GD of course pwns everything that anyone could mention on this thread. Seems like no one really mentions them though.

IDK about that, one of the main reasons I used to take it was to intensify music. One of the best albums to listen to straight then on L is There's a Riot Goin On by Sly Stone.

I don't think I could listen to anything that wasn't electronic these days on acid - trance, ambient, tribal -

Used to listen to rock n'roll a lot in the old days - the dead, todd rundgren, etc...these days it all sounds pretty boring to me - but that's because I've probably heard it all to exhaustion point.

One to listen to on acid if you've never heard it is Jim Morrisons solo -'American Prayer' - also 'Aoxomoxoa' by the dead.

But for me, electronic music has moved it all to a new level and a new energy.

I thought tribal referred to a tribe, playing drums and shit, like a lot of people?

you are right of course, but - it's also a genre of house music - sometimes referred to as progressive house.
