Best new techno artist?

man, it has got to be crystal castles. these guys are sooo new, and sooo good. their first album is just purely epic, and their shows are well-performed and quite the experience. with the release of their second album -- and it not sucking -- this pretty much gives them a spot in my mind as one of the best new techno artists out there. i'm loving the way that this band is developing.

i havn't really heard much swedish house mafia or seen them live. but deadmau5 is great, and puts on an incredible live show as well. another great new band.

edit- haha awsome link. i think that literally IS crimwave being performed under a motorway... hahahahaha

 

I'll be seeing Deadmau5 is a few weeks at Red Rocks, He has quite the light show now.

Techno is such a broad term, I think in the next few years you will see allot of Dub step producers get huge, that's the new hot sound in electronica IMO.

I know its supposed to be new techno but as far as free party dance music goes, oldskool in most genres was unbeatable.

techno is such a broad genre. i'd say this band has a very electronic sound, which is generally what catagorises techno.

this first album is just a musical masterpiece. i don't even know how you can say that is shite. their live performance is just as up to par. they play a great live show and put on a great performance with lasers, and STEAM/MIST and tons of other crazy shit.

 

Electronic sound? That definitely doesnt mean it gets thrown into techno.
Electro and techno are two different animals. Same as hardtek and techno. Its kind of like saying dubstep is drum and bass just because its mainly drums and bass.

Chris Liebing had some fucking wicked releases in the early 00s but to be honest Ive never liked modern dance music of any genre, a lot of current producers have turned to complete shit.

Always going to be much more into the pure sounds of oldskool.

 

I'm not really a fan of Dubstep either but this track is alright for a newish EDM track or otherwise referred to as 'techno' on these boards.
