Just watched the Tim Burton Movie, "Big Fish" (I'm often behind the times). I found the depiction of the town of Spectre both amusing and charming: The portrayal of the population of an entire town who considers shoes unnecessary as a Utopian ideal. And how the population retained that ideal even after falling upon hard times. The wire with the shoes suspended on it and the cyclical nature of the town's fortunes were both powerful metaphors. If you've not seen it, rent it. It's a very powerful and beautiful film. If you have seen it, post your impressions, with particular emphasis on your interpretation of the town of Spectre and its potential meanings.
i know a couple residents of spectre! I am told the feet of the townspeople were QUITE chilly! One person in this pic is a forumer....
