Hey I have about 30 Pink Floyd songs that I downloaded off of torrentspy.com, and they are in the mp3 format. But when I play them on media player, it cuts off near the end, with around 20 seconds left. Its wierd as hell, and Ive been having problems with bittorent files since I dled them.

Also, my ACDC files will convert back to there old artist names (like ac;dc. ac;dc;dc;ac...etc) even when I change the artists on media player....anyone know whats wrong?

And should I disable my firewall for faster dl speedS?

i don't think it's bittorrent that does it, i just got a bunch of alice in chains, and the eagles, and it's all good.

just open port 6881 if you use azerous, that's its default port for connections.
    [it'll go faster.]

I do use BitTorrent for TV shows and I'm not trying to sound preachy, but seriously dude, try paying for your music.

the problem is that youre using media player ;)

what could be the problem is that youre changing the tag name, and not the file name

or that youre trying to change the names to ac/dc, which may not be supported by mediaplayer. i know windows doesnt support the / in filenames for obvious reasons, perhaps mediaplayer is the same way for id tags

Thanks for everyones replies. Ive switched over to Itunes but have enountered some other problems for the sake of moses.

Some of my CSNY tracks skip over to the following song near the end. Just like with media player. This happens to about half of my music so I have to root it out. I try and convert them all to wma or mp3 but it says it has no destination or some shit. FUCK

If you want a good tag editor I suggest getting Tag&Rename. It is a commercial app, but as always if you need a "free version" just send me a PM and I'll help you out. If you are looking for a good free music converter I would highly recommend checking out dbPowerAmp which can be found here http://dbpoweramp.com

check to make sure those ports are the ones your client is configured to,

...home for springbreak, else i'd send you a screenshot of what my router config looks like. i'm on a linksys router too there.

you gotta enable the port forwarding for your computer's ip, probably 198.162.1.1xx

    101, maybe.

    do a start --> run --> cmd -->ipconfig /all
to get your internal ip addy

I don't use dbpoweramps audio player. I only use it to convert music formats. I mostly use the latest version of winamp, although there are a lot of good audio players out there. Here's a small list. All of these programs are free as well.

    1by1 - http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch
    Billy - http://www.sheepfriends.com/?page=billy
    CoolPlayer - http://coolplayer.sourceforge.net/
    DeliPlayer. http://www.deliplayer.com/
    Foobar 2000 - http://www.foobar2000.org/
    iTunes - http://www.apple.com/itunes/
    Jet Audio Basic - http://www.jetaudio.com/
    MusikCube - http://musik.berlios.de/
    QCD Player - http://www.quinnware.com/
    Sonique - http://sonique.lycos.com/
    Winamp - http://www.winamp.com/
    XMPlay - http://www.un4seen.com/xmplay.html

It depends on what you are looking for really. If you want a player that has a small memory footprint (barely uses any ram) then I would go for billy, 1by1, or foobar2000. If you're looking for a player that has a very nice looking interface then I would recommend checking out Sonique 2 beta. If you're just wanting a good all around player, then I would suggest winamp. Recently I've been getting into foobar. It's without a doubt the most highly customizable player that I've ran across yet.
