So, disney is coming out with the movie 'the princess and the frog' in 2009, with the first disney princess who is black. They changed her a bit, but these were thw two ides of what she would look like, I believe: I just want to know. Do any of you find her drawn in a racist manner? Because there has been drama. I just watched a youtube video about it, this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9y3xQYG4uGw And I cant help but be totally annoyed by this woman. I feel like she is just looking for something to complain about, or is there something to be upset about? The fact that she asks 'why cant princess tiana look normal?' makes me think: "what do you mean by NORMAL?" Like the other white princesses? Or what? Drama drama drama. I should add that Im writing this at 5 in the morning.
I think she needs a wake up slap across the face, its just a cartoon...And you can't draw a black person like an Asian or a Caucasian...whats the point then..
Why not just make her a Blasian and be done with it? The Princess looks very pretty and cool, maybe I will take Jack to see this movie!
SHe looks normal to me. I like the picture on the left a lot. I have issues with her dress and her hairdo on the picture of the right, but I have issues with a lot of Disney princesses hairdo's and dresses
I have issues with Disney anyway. In the Hunchback of Notre Dame, that whore Esmerellda totally went with the good looking guy instead of Quasimodo. What the fuck does that teach children?
well, if they dont make a black princess, they're racist. and if they do, they're still racist. either way, people will get offended. lol.
They should have just re-hashed the old drawings of Cinderella, but painted her black, like a minstrel. Nobody would have been offended then.
She gets hanged in the book....The Little Mermaid kills herself...Disney frowns upon that sort of thing.
i thought she stabbed herself through the heart when the prince chose the woman. after all, mermaids are soulless. can't have a prince marrying something without a soul. it's unchristian.
She threw herself over the side of the ship, and couldn't swim with legs or breathe underwater so she drowned.
If I was a parent, I would never let my kid watch that movie. Might turn em into ****** lovers. Can't have no ****** lovers around my house... no sir. Next thing you know they start to listen to that evil rap music. No ODB in my house!
has anyone ever watched that show called something like "fairy tales for every child?" jeez, talk about over the top stereotypes, but no one bitched about that.
She seems pretty angry. But I say whatever. Her concerns seem baseless to me because she's overly sensitive. I don't think a princess having big luscious ass which eclipses the sun is a problem. Theres always room for more ass. And as KC pointed out, animation isn't photorealism, and people also don't look like Cinderella, who I believe also started out as a chambermaid.
belle was a poor inventor's daughter, aurora grew up a peasant in the forest, snow white was put to work by her stepmother, etc. i mean, honestly, they all had to work. why is the tiana character's job an insult? i think the whole rant is stupid.
